There are few technologies that can produce a ROI (return on investment) in less than 6-months.
And while every business — organizational structure, IT maturity level, market segment, business
model, etc. — is different, Nanoheal’s cognitive workplace automation platform will shift spending from
“run” the business to “grow” the business:
REDUCTION IN TICKETS
Self-healing -- detection, diagnosis and resolution -- of workplace issues
combined with self-service and automation reduce tickets.
Just knowing there is a problem at a remote location doesn’t solve anything. Real improvement
requires automation. Automating problem resolution and preventing problems in the first place are
needed to improve IT user experience, increase productivity and foster innovation.
Nanoheal proactively resolves tech support issues before business users know they exist. Never
before has managing tech support issues been this easy. Nanoheal is capable of resolving issues
without any end-user intervention or help desk mediation.
Nanoheal enables IT Pros and IT Execs to turn meaningful analytics into cognitive workplace
automation that translate into tremendous savings. Nanoheal transforms and the way workplace
devices are managed and dramatically improves IT user experience and business productivity, which
frees everyone (IT staff and business users) to focus on innovation.
Cognitive Automation
Bridging the gap between policy-based (finite rule set) and cogni9ve (ability to learn) automa9on.
Cognitive computing is the simulation of human thought processes. It involves self-learning systems
that use data mining, pattern recognition, and so on. The goal of cognitive computing is to create
automated IT systems that are capable of solving problems without requiring human assistance.
Cognitive automation tools are trained, not programmed. Cognitive systems process information by
comparing current data to a teaching set of data. The more data the cognitive system is exposed to,
the more it learns, and the more accurate it becomes over time.
Even with the promise of cognitive automation, at end of the day there are always some rules (policies)
that need to be followed in large organizations. Nanoheal bridges the gap between policy-based (finite
rule set) and cognitive (ability to learn) automation.
Nanoheal’s central knowledge base is pre-packaged with over 300 (resolution / automation) policies.
Those policies are downloaded by the autonomic agent and stored in a local knowledge base as
teaching data. The autonomic agent continually mines a broad set of environment data and augments
the local policies to make smarter decisions on the workplace device. Furthermore, the autonomic
agent refines the way it processes data and looks at patterns to become capable of anticipating
problems and applying resolutions.
Nanoheal allows you to easily access, control, manage, monitor and optimize information technology
and security across physical, virtual, mobile and IoT workplace devices.
Autonomic Computing
Self-healing and predic9ve maintenance and repair.
Nanoheal’s autonomic agents monitor workplace devices locally and utilize a local knowledge base to
effect self-adjustment, a.k.a., self-healing and predictive maintenance and repair. Nanoheal’s central
knowledge base is pre-populated with over 300 resolution / automation policies. The autonomic agent,
through continuous active monitoring is able to detect problems, identify the root cause, and trigger
resolutions for self-healing. In addition, the autonomic agent uses data mining techniques to determine
what is normal and abnormal to predict when maintenance and/or preventative repair should be
performed to avoid those problems in the first place.
Using disk space as an example for self-healing, the autonomic agent detects that an operation has
failed, is able to determine that the root cause is insufficient disk space and is able to resolve the issue
by emptying the file system wastebasket. For predictive maintenance and repair, the autonomic agent
has learned that operations on this workplace device fail when free disk space drops below a certain
level and automatically empties the file system wastebasket to prevent future failures.
The Nanoheal platform uses a distributed local knowledge base to scale with minimal server
requirements. It uses the server for updates, configuration, escalations and analytics to continuously
improve predictions, resolutions and automations.
IT Pros leverage Nanoheal’s analytics to add new resolution / automation policies to the central
knowledge base. These policies are automatically downloaded by the autonomic agent, stored in a
local knowledge base, and then augmented using data mining to make smarter decisions on the
workplace device. Nanoheal’s script-less execution architecture enables the combination of centralized
policy management and cognition (the ability for the autonomic agent to learn) from workplace
devices. This self-managing capability significantly reduces both the complexity and cost of managing
medium and large enterprises. The platform has three major components:
Server component
The server is a suite of applications that run on a system that is located on-premise (at the customer
site), SaaS, or at the hosted solution provider’s location for high availability and convenience. Nanoheal
server applications are browser based and can be accessed via secure HTTP (port 443) from anywhere
on the Internet. They give users access to the event log and asset databases, and with over 300
resolutions / automations to choose from provides unparalleled proactive management and support.
Dashboard Component
Dashboard is a two-pane interface via which you can view analytics and current status of all your
workplace devices across, on all of your sites . The dashboard lets you quickly identify problems, drill
down and determine the root cause. You can view current status, security, resources, events, and
maintenance status of all your workplace devices, and take appropriate corrective actions with one-
click of the mouse.
Nanoheal’s ”All-in-One” solution allows one to easily access, control, manage, monitor and optimize
information technology and security across physical, virtual, mobile and IoT workplace devices.

Self-Healing
The autonomic agent can take
corrective action (resolution) in
response to a wide variety of data
sources including:
• Dialog box popups that appear on
users’ screens.
• Events including System, Application,
Security or Setup sections of
Windows Events. This is helpful to
track any app crash based issue and
to deploy a pre-configured solution
for it too.
• Files, such as, log files and
configuration files.
• Initiation or termination of a process.
IT Execs and IT Pros can identify problems and determine how best to prevent them in the first place
either through preemptive maintenance & repair or best practices. Take for example a car radiator
hose. Rather than wait for it to break the manufacturer recommends replacing it at 50,000 miles to
avoid the failure in the first place.
Device Protection
Nanoheal includes resolutions / automations that can protect workplace devices from external threats
and accidental or poor user security behavior, including use of shadow IT cloud-based services (that do
not go through central IT’s vetting process). Even when the device is not connected to the network the
autonomic agent can:
• Prevent unauthorized
registry key changes
and/or restore to the
previous or desired
value.
• Protect service status
ensuring the service is
not stopped or
disabled and that it is
running.
• Protect files and
folders on the
endpoint local drives
from unauthorized
changes, so that
important
configuration files
cannot be altered,
replaced or deleted by
any user or software.
• Essential processes

Network filter:
• Complete URL blocking
• Keyword based blocking
• Email attachment filtering
• File extension based upload
and download blocking
The autonomic agent helps IT Pros discover (hidden) problems through wide variety of data sources
(show above) and mechanisms and supports integration with external tools. The data is reported in
real-time to the server and aggregated in the dashboard so that IT Pros and IT Execs can prioritize,
diagnose and fix them.
Once a one-click resolution has been verified IT Execs can reduce tickets from business users through
self-healing, self-service and/or predictive maintenance & repair.
The combination of Nanoheal self-healing, self-service, predictive maintenance and repair, and task
automation generally is able to reduce tickets by 40% to 75% (see tickets per device/month below).
Nanoheal’s real-time analytics can even help identify “super” tickets (problems) before end-users call
the help desk and thus help reduce time to resolution for Level 2-3. Nanoheal’s ability to analyze and
discover the under reporting of tickets also helps IT Execs prioritize (hidden) problems.
One-Click Resolution
Nanoheal helps IT Pros discover (hidden) problems, and prioritize, diagnose and fix them. Once a One-
Click resolution has been verified IT Execs can automate through self-healing, self-service and/or
predictive maintenance & repair.
Nanoheal includes over 300 resolutions / automations, which can be duplicated and customized to fit
any estate, while providing the following benefits for the service desk and IT Pros:
Asset & Inventory Tracking Remote Access Service Monitoring & Management
Traditional Support
Nanoheal includes a comprehensive set of workplace management tools, can integrate with traditional
tech support tools (see above) and, more importantly, can leverage those tools in resolution /
automation policies.
Discovery
You can’t manage what you don’t see. The autonomic agent collects essential hardware, software,
health, DMI (desktop management interface) and WMI (Windows management interface) information
from workplace devices and creates local baselines for learning and sends it to the server for analysis
and reporting. Nanoheal supports a variety of reporting formats and can push discovery data to a
external CMDB (configuration management database).
Patch Management
Nanoheal features a robust patch management capability for Microsoft products. Nanoheal can work
independently by managing patch policies on PCs using the Microsoft update server or can integrate
with the Organization’s WSUS / SCCM server.
IT Execs can define the detection, download and install timings of patches on workplace devices.
With Nanoheal’s “Cooperative Support” technology, each PC with the patch installer, becomes a local
distribution point for other PCs on the network. This removes the requirement for a distribution point
infrastructure and dramatically reduces WAN bandwidth.
IT Pros can define the restart behavior of PCs after patches are installed.
Software Delivery
Nanoheal provides a distribution module, which can be used to distribute multiple type of content
(software installers, generic files, commands, legacy software) on multiple platforms (Windows, Linux,
MAC, Android, iOS)
With Nanoheal’s “Cooperative Support” technology, each endpoint with the distributed content,
becomes a local distribution points of other machines on the network. This reducing WAN utilization
and removing the requirement of distribution point infrastructure.
Nanoheal allows you configure “positive” and “negative” keywords, which Nanoheal can use to
process the installation screens and automate the installation process. Nanoheal provides explicit pre
and post installation checks to ensure that the distribution success reporting is not based on return
codes, but a validated install condition.
Nanoheal Solution
The Nanoheal solution is comprised of a modular
set of software subscription services with annual
pricing based on the number of devices
(desktops, mobile and IoT devices) under
management.
Conclusion
In the digital world, business models are re-invented every day, and the reliance on more scalable and
flexible IT solutions is increasing.
Nanoheal’s workplace automation platform dramatically improves IT user experience and business
productivity, and fuels innovation. When an organization is able to deploy workplace devices and
