Discuss with the students and ask them about who is their best friend and why do they love him?

Tell the students that you are going to read a story that is called A busy year and they need to listen


very carefully so they would be able to retell the story by themselves.

Assess students’ knowledge about COP and if they know the directionality and how should we


hold a book.
Start reading the story with the students and show them the book while reading.

After finishing each page the teacher asks the students: What happened? What do you think would
happen next?

After finishing reading the story send the students to the tables.

Give students white papers and colors and ask them to draw what they liked from the story or draw
some incidences that happened in the story.

Sit in a circle and tell the students that we are going to retell the story. Hold the story for the
students and give each student a turn to tell what happened (each student will talk about one page)

Assess if students were listening to the story in the closing when the teacher asks them to retell the story.

Assess students’ knowledge about some concepts of print.
