ALDINGA COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS
LUNCH
For another year our Aldinga Community Christmas Lunch was a huge success.
A beautiful three course traditional Christmas dinner was provided on Christmas Day with the man in red
arriving bringing gifts for all the children.
The day was full of Christmas Spirit and was enjoyed by over 120 guests and volunteers.
This is only made possible because of the wonderful support we receive from local business,
organisations and community members who tirelessly work through out the year.
The Aldinga Institute is a wonderful venue for our lunch and we thank the hall committee for their continued
support and their volunteers who decorate the hall so beautifully.

As coordinator of Breast Cushion project, Mary Colvill
has for the last 20 years ordered materials, organised
cutting (not easy with silk), sewing, stuffing and packing
days for the breast cushions.. She has coordinated
distribution to hospitals in Adelaide and then delivered
them to their destinations. Mary liaises with Breast Care
nurses at various hospitals and makes emergency
deliveries as required. Originally we were making 20
cushions a month but this is now 30. Mary has overseen
the making of more than 5,500 of these very important
post-operative cushions for women who have had surgery
for breast cancer. The cushions are placed under the arm
on the effected side and provide comfort and stability for
the patient. As they are lovingly presented with wrapping,
a bow and a card, they they are an important aid to
recovery.
This is a very important project for the Zonta Club of
Noarlunga Southern Vales and we receive many letters
and donations from recipients of these pillows saying
how usual they have been in their recovery.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2018 when...

1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.
3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your
family of three.
4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next
to you.
5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and
family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.
6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your mo-
bile phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry
in the
groceries...
7. Every commercial on television has a web site at
the bottom of the screen
8. Leaving the house without your mobile phone,
which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60)
years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you
turn around to go and get it.
10. You get up in the morning and go on line before
getting your coffee
11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )
