Insurance, why?

“I am prepared for the worst, but hope for the best.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli

Insurance helps us to do exactly what this quote suggests. We all face many kinds of risks: risk
of meeting with an accident, falling sick, being a victim of a natural disaster or fire, and above all
risk of life. All these risks not only come with pain and suffering but also hurt financially.
Insurance is one way of being prepared for the worst; it offers the surety that the economic part
of the pain will be taken care of.

Q&A

What is CASCO?

CASCO is the ISO committee that works on issues relating to conformity

assessment. CASCO develops policy and publishes standards related to
conformity assessment, it does not perform conformity assessment activities.
Membership toCASCO is open to full and correspondent members.

What is full CASCO insurance?(ex: motor)

The Motor Casco is a voluntary insurance. It covers the motor vehicle against
various risks such as fire, natural disasters, theft of the motor vehicle or the
equipment installed therein, a breakdown as a result of collision with another
vehicle or object on the road etc.
What is the difference between partial and full CASCO?

Partial casco coverage

This insurance is the most cost effective solution, but offers only an incomplete protection. The
partial cover car insurance guarantees the cost of vehicle damage in case of:

 Natural events: fire, lightning, hail, snow, and damage caused by animals.
 Malicious acts: roberry, glass break, …
 Other damage: explosion, short-circuit, falling aircraft (or parts of aircraft), …

In a simplified way, this produts insures the vehicle for any damage not resulting a collision.

Collision casco, full casco

As its name suggets, the collision casco covers damage resulting from a collision, and not taken
care of by a liability insurance. This kind of product is subject to a franchise (generally a minimum
of 500 or 1,000 Chf). It is not possible to choose only a collision casco: this insurance must be
combined with a partial casco. As a result, a full casco is the combination of a partial and a
collision casco insurance. This solution is of course more efficient in terms of benefits, but the
monthly premium is substantially higher.

If a vehicle is acquired with a leasing, a full casco is generally imposed.
