Selfieometry Project

1 - This is a Polaris slingshot. Its driver side rear-view mirror has equilateral triangles. Equilateral triangles have all sides and
angles congruent. On the splitter, there is an obtuse angle. Obtuse angles have measures greater than 90 degrees

2 - This is the exterior of a window. The supports of the window form two right angles. Right angles have measures of 90
degrees. The two up-right parts of the right angles are parallel because their bases lie on the same line segment. Parallel lines
never intersect.
3 - This is the wheel of a quad. The rim of the wheel forms a circle. Circles never have sides and never have corners.
4 - This is a basketball hoop. It has a circle and within that circle, there are vertical angles and right triangles. Vertical angles
have congruent measures. Right triangles have three sides.
5 - This is the rear of a trailer. The parts of the trailer form a rectangle. Rectangles have opposite sides that are congruent and
parallel. Rectangles also have all angle measures equal to 90 degrees.
6 - This is the window of a open car door. It has one set of parallel lines and two legs that are not congruent or parallel to each
other.
7 - This is a picture of a trampoline spring-like mechanism. It forms parallel lines. The two traversals are made by the supports
of the spring mechanism for the trampoline. The two angles at the top of the picture both have congruent angle measures
because they are corresponding angles. The same goes for the two angles at the bottom of the picture.
8 - This is a picture of an out door light fixture. It has sides that form parallelograms and its light is a circle. Parallelograms are
four-sided figures that have all opposite sides parallel and congruent.
9 - This is a picture of a door post intersected by another piece of door trim. They form a linear pair. Linear pairs are angle pairs
that add up to 180 degrees.
10 - This is a picture of a garage door. They door panels for parallel lines. Parallel lines never intersect.
11 - This is a picture of a ladder. The ladder and the rungs of the latter form an isosceles trapezoid. This figure shown is an
isosceles trapezoid because the angle of the camera makes the figure look like there is one set of parallel lines and the base legs
and angles are congruent. Isosceles trapezoids have congruent legs and base angles and they have one pair of parallel sides.
12 - This is a quad helmet. The air shield has holes within it that form an isosceles triangle. Isosceles triangles have two
congruent base angles and an altitude that bisects the vertex angle. They also have two congruent base legs.
13 - This is a picture of the top of a cabinet. It forms a quadrilateral. Quadrilaterals have four sides and no other special
properties.
14 - This is a picture of a partially opened oven door. The oven door resembles an acute angle because it has an angle measure
less than 90 degrees.
15 - This is a sofa. There are polygons on this sofa. Polygons are simply figures that have more than three sides. This specific
set of polygons happens to contain regular polygons.
