MANUFACTURING TEA
Based on the picture, the picture shows the process of manufacturing tea.
Tea manufacture is the process of transformation of freshly plucked green tea leaves
to black tea. Firstly, the green leaf is harvested on a regular basis from each field.
The picked of the soft two leaves and the bud for the good quality tea. The
manufacture begins from the time the leaf is plucked in the field to ensure it retains
its freshness. Then, no sooner it is received at the factory, the leaf is weighed and
spread on racks. Withering, is a process, where conditioned air is circulated between
the leaves. During this process the leaves lose 60% of their moisture and become
limp and flaccid, which makes them suitable for rolling. Following of that picture,
there are 2 ways of the next process are the traditional method or modern method.
In the traditional method the name of the process is rolling, the tea leaves are rolled
flat and broken to release enzymes from the leaves. In the modern method, the name
of the process is cutting which is to created leaves are cut, torn, and curled to make
smaller granular pieces. After that, the process is Oxidation or Fermentation. In this
process, the rolled leaves are spread on tiles or cement. Because of the enzyme
reaction with air, it makes the tea leaves change to copper colour. Next, the process
is Frying or Drying, the tea leaves are dried by oven or hot air dryer and 97%
moisture out because of it, and flavour and aroma realesed from the tea leaves.
Finally, the tea leaves are ready to be packed and despatched to the auctions or
packed into tea packs of various forms for direct export/distribution.
