Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad is one of the lead Centres of Indian Space
Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS). SAC focuses on design of space
borne instruments for terrestrial and planetary missions of ISRO and development and
operationalisation of Space Technology for national development.

General Conditions/Instructions:

1. The posts are temporary, but likely to continue.

2. Age limit as on 05/10/2010, is 35 years but relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST


candidates and 3 years in case of OBC candidates. Ex-Servicemen & Persons with
Disabilities (PWD) candidates are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Government of
India’s rules.

3. As on date, approximate salary for the post in the Pay Band-2 of Rs.9300-34,800/- + Grade
Pay Rs.4,200/- is Rs.23,085/- per month.

4. For technical posts the Organisation has a progressive HRD policy and provides an excellent
growth potential for the right individual through its periodical Merit Based Performance review
system (called Merit Promotion Scheme) de-linked from availability of higher post, by which
the staff can be evaluated for the advancement of their career in the Organisation.

5. The Organisation provides medical facilities (Contributory Health Service Scheme) for self and
dependants, transport facilities/transport allowance, subsidised canteen facilities, housing
accommodation subject to availability, in addition to the facilities available to the other Central
Government Staff. The Centre has a well-maintained Central School and a well-stocked
Library that provides an excellent opportunity for professional development.

6. At present the place of posting is SAC, Ahmedabad, but the selected candidates are liable to
be posted in any of the Centres/Units of the Indian Space Research Organisation/Department
of Space situated anywhere in India as and when required.

7. Candidates will have to produce proof of the details furnished in their applications submitted
on-line as and when required.

8. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC have to submit attested copies of caste certificate issued
by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format applicable for reservation in jobs under
Government of India.
9. Candidates applying for the Post No.1 (Reserved for Person with Disabilities) have to submit
attested copy of Disability Certificate in the prescribed format as per Ministry of Personnel,
Public Grievances & Pension, Department of Personnel & Training, New Delhi vide office
Memorandum No. 36035/3/2004-Estt. (Res) dated December 29, 2005 clearly indicating the
percentage of disability, issued by Medical Board consisting of at least 3 members out of
which one shall be a specialist in the particular field for assessing locomotor disability, duly
constituted by Central or a State Government. Minimum degree of disability for locomotor
disability is 40%.

10. Only short-listed candidates will be called for Written Test/Interview as the case may be.
Candidates called for Written Test/interview will have the option to answer the questions in
Hindi also.

11. Outstation candidates called for Interview will be paid to and fro Second Class Railway Fare
by the shortest route including reservation/ sleeper charges on production of proof of journey
such as Railway Tickets/Ticket Number or Bus tickets, etc. If the candidates travel in a higher
class of accommodation than the one prescribed, only Second Class rail fare excluding the
reservation charges/sleeper charges will be paid.

12. The employees will be governed by New Defined Contribution Pension Scheme.

13. Candidates working in Government/Public Undertaking/Quasi-Government/Autonomous


Organisation should ensure that their application are sent through proper channel. In case,
they anticipate any delay in forwarding their applications, they may submit advance copies of
their applications before the due date. However, they should produce at the time of attending
the test/interview in SAC, either a `NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ from their respective
organisation in original, or an attested copy of the communication under which their
applications have been forwarded to SAC for consideration.

14. Candidates should produce original testimonials such as mark-sheets and certificates of all
education qualification, as a proof of the details furnished in their applications, at the time of
interview for verification failing which they will not be allowed to appear for interview nor the
cost of the travel reimbursed/paid.

15. Selected candidates may have to join the post immediately on being found fit by a Medical
Authority.

16. No correspondence will be entertained with the candidates who are not short-listed for
Interview.

17. The Organisation reserves the right not to fill up any of the posts, if it so decides.

19. Incomplete applications like those without photograph, signature, mark-sheets,
