Reflection
In my first assignment for 102086 DESIGNING TEACHING & LEARNING, which required me to write
an essay on the Foundations of Teaching & Learning and answer the following question on “He who
can, does; he who cannot, teaches” I got 27/50 I was actually disappointed with my results, I
expected at least to get 35/50. This made we realize coming from a science back (majoring in
general in biology and chemistry) hasn’t helped me a lot at all or hasn’t prepared me well enough.
When I was doing bachelor degree in science, we never got a chance to write an essay. The last
time I wrote an essay was like 6 years ago, back when I was in high school. I now know what I need
to do in order to improve thanks my tutorial (lecturer) for providing me with positive feedbacks on
what I should improve more. I do know how to reference my work, we were taught to reference in
Apa style, which I did but unfortunately to the marker stated that my reference did not match the Apa
style format. I need to improve in my academic writing. I notice the person who marked my work
didn’t like the examples I provided for the gifted and talented students, I need to focus on providing
examples of ways for catering different students.
I will improve in academic writing and in my Apa style referencing. I hope to continue to improve
throughout my profession life. There is always room for improvements.
This feedback will help me to improve in my second assignments.
