A surprising number of flying insects have larva that live in the water. Some larva develop in the water in a mat-
ter of days or weeks, others spend a year or two as aquatic larvae (dragonfly, for example), then have a very short
time as flying adults. The mayfly’s adult stage is so short it does’t even eat!
Use these cards to play a standard “memory” game where you flip over two cards at a time and see if you get a
match. If they don’t match, turn them back over. Make sure all players see the cards before turning them over.
