Why should we know our Bible-Presbyterian Faith? Don’t we know it already? Every
member catechised and baptised in the B-P Church should know why he is B-P, but sadly, this
is sometimes not the case. Some may know it in the head, but
not in the heart. Some know it in name, but not in practice.
Some may believe in the B-P Faith, but do not care to defend
it. These are the fence-sitters who can smile at both truth and
error. On the Bible issue, the KJV is good, but the NIV, NASB,
TEV, RSV, CEV, ESV etc are also good (maybe even better,
their distorted translations, and their underlying corrupt text
notwithstanding).

Will our sons defend the Faith? There is a real need today for Protestant
sons to know the Historic Christian Faith not just doctrinally but also polemically
in the spirit of Jude 3, “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the
common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye
should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

How we thank God for the 16th Century Protestant Reformation! How we
thank God for the brave and godly servants like Luther, Calvin, and Knox whom the Lord had
raised to defend the Faith. Without the Light of the Reformation, we would still be in Roman
Catholic darkness and bondage today.

Reformation is unending and ever continuing. We remember the 20th Century


Reformation Movement under Dr Carl McIntire. The B-P Church and all faithful fundamentalists
fought hard and well against modernism, ecumenism and neo-evangelicalism. It was a battle for
the Bible, and the battle was fought and won. The doctrine of Verbal Plenary Inspiration (VPI)
has become the orthodox expression of our belief in a totally inerrant and infallible Scripture.

The battle for the Bible continues


into the 21st Century. Now the battle
concerns the doctrine of the Verbal
Plenary Preservation (VPP) of Scripture.
Neo-fundamentalists are denying that the
Church has a perfect Bible today. They
claim that the Bible was perfect only in the
past when it was first given, but no longer perfect today. God may have inspired His words
perfectly, but did not preserve His words perfectly. They teach that Christians do not have all of
God’s words today, and even if they do, they cannot be totally sure where the inspired words
are. There is no tangible Word of God that is infallible and inerrant in every way today. Every
Hebrew text is impure, every Greek text is impure, every translation is impure. There is simply
no such thing as a perfect Bible, no such thing as a perfect Written Standard today. If that be

the case, how can we be sure that Christianity is true? If the Bible today contains mistakes, how
can we know for certain that our faith is sure? “Faith cometh by hearing,
and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). But they insist that the
Word of God is impure and imperfect today because God did not
preserve His words infallibly. If we do not have an infallible and inerrant
Scripture today, then is not our faith vain? Are we still not in our sins?
Christians are a most miserable lot for sure!

But our Protestant Confessions of Faith since the days of the


Reformation affirm that our Scriptures have been “kept pure in all ages”
(Westminster Confession, I:8). We have a perfect Bible today, and on
the basis of the doctrine of the special providential preservation of
God’s words in the original languages, Christians by the logic of faith
can know for sure where the inspired words today are found or located
(Heb 11:3, 6).

Despite the sure teaching of Scripture (Ps 12:6-7, Matt 5:18, 24:35), and the clear
testimony of the Protestant Confessions concerning the perfect preservation of Scripture, so-
called fundamentalists today say that the perfect preservation of the Holy Scriptures is a “new
doctrine.” They say that God did not promise that He will preserve His words infallibly to the jot
and tittle. Those who teach the 100% perfection of the Bible today are branded as “heretics.”
They accuse those who teach that the Bible is 100% perfect and without any mistakes of being
“ungodly” and “unscholarly.” The godly and scholarly man today is the one who agrees with the
so-called “facts” and “evidences” that the Bible today contains some “insignificant mistakes”,
and has “built-in redundancies”. If asked about whether the Bible today has mistakes or not, the
best that Christians can say today is, “There are no mistakes in the Bible that should cause us
any worry.” According to these neo-fundamentalists, claiming that “The Bible has no mistakes
whatsoever, period” is extreme and untenable.

“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do” (Ps 11:3)?
Our foundations are not destroyed and can never be. In my article—“Identifying Our
Bible-Presbyterian Faith”—published in the 50th anniversary magazine of Life B-P Church, I
wrote concerning our Roots, our Book, our Lord, our Work, our Hope. But let me restate them in
light of the present battle for the VPP of Scripture.

(1) Our Roots: The B-P Faith is rooted in the Protestant Reformation and in Biblical
Fundamentalism.

Our roots tell us that we need to keep on


“earnestly contending for the faith which was once
delivered unto the saints” (Jude 3). Calvin in the 16th Century
and McIntire in the 20th Century had their own spiritual and
doctrinal battles to fight, and we have ours (read The
Singapore B-P Church Story by her founding pastor Rev Dr
Timothy Tow). In the 21st Century, it is for the perfect
preservation of the Holy Scriptures. The 16th and 20th
Century Reformation cry of Sola Scriptura (Scriptures
Alone) must ring true even today as we seek to defend …

(2) Our Book: The B-P Faith is anchored solely on the divinely inspired and
supernaturally preserved Word of God.

The Bible in our hands today is not only 100% inspired but
also 100% preserved (Ps 12:6-7, 2 Tim 3:16, 1 Pet 1:23-25). The
Bible today is in the 100% inspired and 100% preserved Hebrew
and Greek Scriptures on which the Authorised KJV is based, and
not in the corrupt Westcott and Hort text underlying the inferior
modern English versions. There is only one Bible today (the inspired
and preserved original language Bible), because we have only one
Lord. (Read my books—Kept Pure in All Ages: Recapturing the

(3) Our Lord: The B-P Faith believes in a Saviour who is 100% God and 100% Man in one
Person—Jesus Christ—the only living and true God and Saviour of the world.

Our Lord and Saviour who is all-powerful and all-knowing


surely could not have allowed any of His inspired words (not just
the doctrines) to be lost for He had promised to preserve them to
the last iota (Matt 5:18). Our Lord can only tell the truth; He
cannot lie (Rom 3:4). His promises are true and He has kept His
words. If this be the case, what then is our duty?

(4) Our Work: The B-P Faith is a militant faith which separates from all forms of unbelief
and apostasy.

It is the duty of every Christian to believe the Bible and


defend the Bible wholeheartedly and courageously against the
insidious attacks on the Scriptures by neo-evangelicalism which
says the Bible is imperfectly inspired (no perfect Bible in the
past), and neo-fundamentalism which says the Bible is
imperfectly preserved (no perfect Bible in the present).
Confusion arises when no clear stand is taken, when lines are
blurred. There is a vital need to take a separatist stand and a
declared position “for the word of God, and for the testimony of
Jesus Christ” (Rev 1:9 cf 2 Cor 6:14-7:1, 2 Thess 3:16-14). We
seek God’s approval, not man’s. The compromiser is the one who seeks the popular vote. But
one with God is majority! (For a critique of neo-fundamentalism, read my articles, “The

no surprise that neo-fundamentalists today are prepared to abandon the good name of “Biblical
fundamentalism” in favour of a rather vague “preservationism” or “paleo-evangelicalism” as
suggested recently.)

(5) Our Hope: The B-P Faith believes in the glorious promise that once a Christian is
saved, he is always saved.

The God of the Christian Bible who has promised to preserve


every one of His inspired Hebrew and Greek words has also
promised to preserve every one of His saints who have been
redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ (John 10:27-
29, Rom 8:28-39). We reject the mistaken Arminian view that
a Christian can fall into and out of grace—saved at one moment, and unsaved the next. The
Lord will never disown His children even when they are sometimes disobedient, “For whom the
Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth” (Heb 12:6). Every
Christian will surely get to heaven. The Holy Spirit who indwells every believer guarantees it

We are confident that the foundations of our faith are sure and secure. Our foundations
are none other than the Living Word—our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who is “the same
yesterday, today and for ever”, and the Written Word—the 100% inspired and 100% preserved
Hebrew and Greek words of the Reformation Text that are incorruptible, unchangeable, and
forever infallible and inerrant, that form the basis of all faithful translations of the Protestant
Reformation.

As Bible-Presbyterians, we are BIBLE first, then


Presbyterians. But certain pastors and presbyters today
override the Bible and criticise the Bible they hold in their
hands. The question and challenge of the hour remains:
Will history repeat itself? Is this the generation that will
see the downfall of the B-P Church? Will B-P sons deny
the Faith, or will they defend the Faith? O Lord, save us
from the apostasy to come!

“He’s able. He’s able. I know He’s able.


I know my Lord is able to carry me through.
He’s able. He’s able. I know He’s able.
I know my Lord is able to carry me through.

He heals the broken hearted and sets the captives free


He makes the lame to walk again and cause the blind to see.

He’s able. He’s able. I know He’s able.


I know my Lord is able to carry me through.”

Yes, the Lord is able! Here’s what the Bible proclaims:

(1) He is able to fulfil all His promises

“And being fully persuaded, that what he had promised, he was able to perform” (Rom 4:21).

The LORD had promised Abraham to make him a father of many nations. But Abraham
was approaching a hundred years old. How would it be possible for him to have a son? It defies
human logic. But Abraham trusted in the LORD to fulfil His promise. And God blessed Abraham
for His faith when Isaac was born unto Abraham. Indeed, our God is able to perform His
promises to the jot and tittle. Not one of the promises in His Word shall fail. “God is not a man,
that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not
do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?” (Num 23:19). All the promises of God
are yea, and in Him Amen (2 Cor 1:20). Abraham’s type of faith in God’s Word is sorely lacking
today. Instead of “God says it, I believe it”, the call is now “Men says it, I believe it”. Instead of
“right is might”, it is now “might is right”. Carnal methods are brought into churches, making
them no different from the world! Rather than reverent worship like that portrayed in Revelation
4, we have loud sensual music played by bands during service. Jokes are cracked in wild
abandon in the pulpit. The flesh-pleasing health and wealth gospel is preached rather than the
pure authentic gospel of the cross. No more preaching of sin! No more preaching of earnestly
contending for the faith! No more preaching of God’s holiness, wrath and judgement! These are
sour doctrines! Where is the fear of God? Where is the faith in His Word, and the obedience that
accompanies that faith? God help our unbelief!

The LORD is able to fulfil all His promises. Believeth thou this?

(2) He is able to deliver

“If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he
will deliver us out of thine hand, O king” (Dan 3:17).

Nebuchadnezzar made a huge image of gold. A decree was passed that at the sound of
music, everyone must fall down and worship the golden image. But God forbids in the 2nd
commandment to bow down or worship graven images (Exo 20:4-6; Deut 5:9-10). Daniel’s three
friends – Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego refused to disobey God. Their commitment to
God and His Word resulted in Nebuchadnezzar ordering them to be bound in their clothes and
thrown into a burning fiery furnace. Their reply? God is able to deliver! A burning furnace cannot
stop the Creator of this world from delivering His servants. Daniel’s three friends were full of
trust in their God. In fury, Nebuchadnezzar ordered that the
furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. The furnace’s
heat was so hot that it slew those men who bound Daniel’s three
friends. However, Daniel’s three friends were left unscathed as
the Son of God delivered them. Their clothes were not burnt,
neither was the smell of fire on them! Faced with such a
remarkable deliverance, Nebuchadnezzar could not help but to
praise the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego.

Are you faced with a load of trouble? Does everything


seem lost? Is all hope gone? Fear not! The LORD is able to deliver. Believeth thou this?

(3) He is able to save to the uttermost

“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that


come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make
intercession for them” (Heb 7:25).

Not only is God able to deliver us physically, He is also


able to save us totally from our sins! In Genesis 14, Abram
returned victorious from battle after rescuing Lot. On his way,
Abram met with Melchizedek, King of Salem, who brought forth bread and wine as he was the
priest of the most high God. After being blessed by Melchizedek, Abram gave tithes to
Melchizedek for the LORD. This Melchizedek was indeed a great man. He was without father,
without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like
unto the Son of God; abideth continually (Heb 7:3).

Jesus Christ was made a priest after the order of Melchizedek. This means like
Melchizedek, He has an unchanging priesthood. Being perfect, Christ offered Himself as a
sacrifice for the sins of His people. Because He is the perfect sacrifice, the work of Christ alone
is sufficient to save us. There is no need for us to do good works to secure our salvation. Christ
alone is able to save us to the uttermost. For all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags. What is
needed for us is to repent of our sins and believe that Jesus is Lord and Saviour. “That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto
righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Rom 10:9-10).

Consider King Manasseh, one of the most wicked and cruel kings in Israel’s history (2
Chronicles 33; 2 Kings 21). He brought back idol worship to Israel, even to the extent of making
a carved image in the house of God for worship. He made his own children to pass through the
fire as sacrifice to Molech. As judgement, the LORD delivered him into the hands of the
Assyrians. He was bound up with fetters and carried to Babylon. In the midst of affliction,
Manasseh humbled himself before the LORD and repented. The LORD heard his cry and saved
him. He was brought back to Jerusalem where he renounced his past ways of idol worship and

served only the one living and true God. Manasseh – a sinner gloriously saved by the grace of
God.

Consider the apostle Paul (Acts 8-9). He was a great persecutor, not sparing any who
stood for the Lord Jesus Christ. But after having met the Lord Jesus Christ personally on the
road to Damascus, Paul was a changed man. The great persecutor of the church became the
great servant of the church. He who once spared no effort to destroy the gospel was now
promoting it. What a wondrous transformation! Indeed how true it is when Paul writes – “This is
a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save
sinners; of whom I am chief” (1 Tim 1:15). Paul – a sinner gloriously saved by the grace of God.
Have you repented of your sins and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for your salvation? If not,
the time to believe is now!

The Lord is able to save to the uttermost. Believeth thou this?

(4) He is able to keep our salvation

“… for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I
have committed unto him against that day” (2 Tim 1:12).

Not only is God able to save us to the uttermost, He is also able to keep the salvation of
our souls which we have committed unto Him till we see the Lord Jesus Christ face to face
again. Jesus triumphantly declares, “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no
man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand” (John 10:29). Paul says in Philippians,
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it
until the day of Christ Jesus” (Phil 1:6). Once saved, always saved! Not one shall be lost.

There are some who believe that if any sin, his salvation will be lost. I have friends who
come from churches which believe so. Though many are godly and pious men, they are
definitely wrong in this case. I am afraid I cannot agree with them. To do so will be denying the
very essence and power of the gospel! Once saved, always saved! Not one shall be lost.

Does such a doctrine give us license to sin? God forbid! “Know ye not that the
unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor
idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves,
nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God” (1
Cor 6:9-10). Woe unto him who abuses the doctrine of the perseverance of the saints for a
license to sin! Woe to that man! Do not err, dearly beloved.

The Lord is able to keep our salvation. Believeth thou this?

(5) He is able to keep us from falling

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the
presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and
majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen” (Jude 24-25).

Finally, the Lord is able to keep us from falling into apostasy. In the epistle of Jude, Jude
warns against false teachers who are creeping into the church. After reading the warning of
Jude, some may possibly worry that they might fall into apostasy themselves. Have no fear! –
says Jude. Those who are the children of God will never fall into apostasy because the Lord is
able to keep them from falling! When we are presented before the presence of God, what joy

will fill our hearts! The thought of this causes Jude to end his epistle of Jude with a doxology,
praising our God who lives forever and ever.

What about those who profess to be Christians but later fall into apostasy – are these
saved? The Word of God is clear. They have never been Christians in the first place. “Little
children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there
many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were
not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went
out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us” (1 John 2:18-19). Indeed,
Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (2 Cor 11:14). The enemies of Christ are
often found within the church. On the contrary, a true Christian will never commit apostasy.

The Lord is able to keep us from falling. Believeth thou this?

Our God is a great God. “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing
too hard for me?” (Jer 32:27). He is a God that we can trust. The question is – have you
repented of your sins and trusted in Him for your salvation? Do you believe that Jesus is both
Lord and Saviour, and He died for your sins? If you have not done so, beloved reader, the time
is now. Why do you keep going against a God that is able?

For those who have believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, let us be thankful for the
blessedness of being the sons of a God that is able. Will you not go on you knees now and
thank the Lord for His goodness unto you?

“He’s able. He’s able. I know He’s able. I know my Lord is able to carry me through.” Amen.

I had been to FCM camp before but it


was purely on a part-time basis where I simply
attended one or two messages. From then, I
had formed the impression that FCM is the
place to be for Christians studying in
universities or polytechnics. I did not know why
but I told myself that I would want to join FCM if
it is God’s will that I should study in a tertiary
institution.

Well, years passed and there I was,


attending my first full-time FCM camp. More
accurately, I was also part of the organising
committee for the camp. Hence, I am in a

dilemma as I write - whether I should write this article as a camp committee member or a
camper? Pardon me if I made you confused.

As the days drew nearer to camp, I got even more anxious about it. It was the usual fear
of “What if I forgot to do something? What if something crop up at the last minute? What if this
and what if that…” It was quite irritating to have these thoughts in my head because they simply
kept re-surfacing and I did not commit them all to my Lord. If there was one thing that I deeply
regret not doing, it was my lack of prayer for the camp and the camp committee…

Thank God for His sovereignty and goodness towards me. I was increasingly blessed as
the days go by in the camp. The breakdown of the programme is as follows:

(I) Main Messages: “Holiness and Separation” by Rev Tan Kian Sing

To me, the messages and the discussions were a package together. One could not do
without the other. In addition, I also had the privilege of learning from the different discussion
group leaders who provoked us to think more and share our thoughts aloud. All these
emphasised the need for us, regenerated Christians who truly love God, to lead a holy and
consecrated life that glorifies and honours God. Oh how needful this message is in this time and
age of ours today! There are enough people who claim to be Christians and yet keep
compromising God’s standards to that of the world’s! We
need to be shining witnesses for Jesus in this world
darkened and stained by sensual pleasures and
selfishness; we ought to be a sunbeam to those around us
who are caught up in these vain pursuits, yet living in much
sorrow and emptiness. From the camp, God has
strengthened my convictions and caused me to have new
resolutions for Him. For instance, I was dying to watch the
latest cartoon in town ‘Madagascar’. To many,
‘Madagascar’ is simply a cartoon with wholesome fun
and laughter, and great for family entertainment. Thank God He reminded me of FCM camp and
I just told myself not to watch any movie, even if it had received raving reviews from people
around me.

(II) Night Message: “From Youths to Adults: Stepping Stones or Stumbling Blocks?” by Eld Boaz
Boon

Elder Boon gave us a list of 10 stumbling blocks that we ought to watch out for as we
walk through this pilgrim’s journey, lest we fall by the wayside and stray to the broad way that
will only lead to destruction. It might seem very daunting for some of us to have to look out for
10 of these stumbling blocks which include relationships, pride and slothfulness. However, on
second thought, it is not as difficult as it seems, if only we fear God and trust in His power and
might to work in us. All these demands placed on us will gradually become second nature to us
as we walk closer to God - “sweeter as the years go by”. Let it be in our daily prayers to put off
the old man and don the armour of God.

(III) Workshop: Hermeneutics by Rev (Dr) Quek Suan Yew

I was very excited about this workshop because this is really ‘solid’
stuff. For years, I have been struggling to understand the Word of God as I
do my Quiet Time and prepare Bible studies for my group. Many times, I
would be asking “What does this passage really mean? What is the context
of this passage” and many other questions. Studying the Word of God is

really no easy feat. It takes supernatural effort to understand it and that is why the utmost
importance of asking the Spirit to guide and enlighten us, especially since all of us have our own
unique experiences and backgrounds which will cause us to interpret the Bible differently. Want

(IV) Case Studies: Contemporary Issues

This was something new to me. All the campers sat in a circle and after pondering on all
the case studies, we went into a discussion-cum-thrashing. I really appreciated those who were
not afraid to voice out their views, which made the whole discussion even more engaging and
thought-provoking. Previously, whenever I had such discussions in my own church, it was
mostly a ‘one-way traffic’, with input mostly from the panellists. I thank God for Brother Nelson
for veering us back to the right direction in regards to all these issues. Now, whenever I make a
decision, it is no longer to please man but to please my Lord only, in my dressing to look proper
and modest, in entertainment to seek neither for worldly standards nor my own pleasure.

There are still many, many things


which happened in camp. I enjoyed the
fellowship I had with all the campers,
despite knowing most of them for the first
time in my life. Even though I did not
personally talk to all of them, I was still
encouraged by the testimonies that all gave
on the last night of the camp. Everyone left
with a special blessing that God had
reserved for all those that seek Him - “Call
unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew
thee great and mighty things, which thou
knowest not” (Jer 33:3).

Camp Testimonies!

Newcomer!

As a first-timer at an FCM camp, I was initially


apprehensive about it. I would be living with people whom I
do not know for a good 5 days, no doubt from backgrounds
different from mine. Furthermore, having not come from a
BP church myself, there would be even more differences.

However, this wariness was watered down after the 5


days. We found common ground in our sharing, a hunger
and thirst for God's living Word, and had plenty of fun
together. With communion of songs and praises, with
gatherings and expositions, with much appreciated late
hours of dorm fellowship, I grew closer to brethren in what
can be considered a very short time.

I personally am impressed with the depth that was covered in the messages, and the
questions raised in the discussions after the messages. The "debate" on “controversial” issues and
practical faith-living was especially enlightening, bringing up viewpoints that I had never considered
before. All in all, I was ministered through the camp by both the people and the programme. God
willing, I would go for the next FCM camp, and recommend it to my friends.

“FCM Camp 2005 was my very first FCM camp. I was not particularly enthusiastic about
attending the camp as I just completed a 5-day Physical Education Camp the previous week. Really
thank God for His grace, despite my fatigue and sun-burnt condition.

Frankly speaking, I initially thought that this camp was yet another Christian camp where
there’ll be only preaching all day long. “After the 1 week of physical burn-out in my PE camp, it’s
another week of mental burnout, how am I going to ‘survive’?” I thought.

Haha…how naïve I was! My very first FCM Camp was such a wonderful surprise. Not only
was I fed with spiritual food by faithful servants of God and sweet fellowship among like-minded
brethren, I was also greatly encouraged and edified by the discussions we had had throughout the
camp. Even meal times were wisely spent sharing our doubts and having them answered by mature
brethren. Bro Nelson from FEBC was also there to help us with our queries. Good food cum
wonderful sharing was indeed a great blessing from God!

I also thank God for knowing many more FCM friends, apart from the usual brethren in FCM
NTU/NIE. We had a blessed time of “Captain’s Ball” where all of us played our hearts out. FCMers
are terrific sports lovers too! I also thoroughly enjoyed the sweet fellowship and dorm sharing every
night, where the guys came together to sing and share personal struggles in their lives. Indeed, to be
able to bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another is a wonderful responsibility of every
child of God. Good times really fly. This 5-day FCM Camp had definitely proved to be my most
enjoyable and edifying camp in my life.

Finally, I will like to encourage


those who are reluctant to join FCM: This
biblical ministry is not one dull and lifeless
ministry. It has helped me in my spiritual
walk and encouraged me in my service for
the Lord, all by the grace of God. And I
believe it is able to do the same for you. I
cannot deny the many obstacles in
attending FCM, due to the insurmountable
pressure of school work and worldly
temptations luring us, but God has
promised in His Word, “But seek ye first
the kingdom of God, and his
righteousness; and all these things shall
be added unto you” (Matthew 6:33). I
challenge you to discover God’s amazing
and wondrous blessings yourself!

I thank God for this opportunity to write this testimony regarding the FCM camp. During the
last combined FCM meeting, I was told that Desmond was looking for people to serve in the FCM
camp and I thought that the best way to make full use of my holidays was to serve God in this area.
In the camp committee, I was assigned as the games and logistic IC and was also given the task of
compiling the camp booklet.

Just a few weeks before the camp while


we were halfway through our preparation, my
grandfather was hospitalised after suffering
injuries from a fall. I thank God for preserving
him throughout his ordeal and also giving me a
peace of mind to continue focusing on
completing my tasks for the camp. How often
when we try to serve the Lord, the devil will
always be lurking about, waiting to pounce on us
and cause us difficulties. But God is always
faithful to preserve His people to the very end!

great spiritual blessings and wonderful fellowship to every camper, more than I had anticipated. The
preaching of Rev Tan, Rev Quek and Elder Boon has taught us many valuable lessons regarding
different issues of our Christian life. The dorm fellowship and group discussions were very edifying
and encouraging as we see how the grace of God was manifested in every individual.

Even though I will not be able to join the FCM camp next year due to my enlistment into the
National Service, I urge everyone to join us again next year for a blessed time of FCM camp!
