Adverting to the reference cited, I here with submit the following particulars for finalizing
the R.E Wall design and drawings
1 (a) In the sanctioned estimate, the sub-estimate of “Construction Reinforced soil walls on both sides
of ROB (Non-Viaduct portion beyond viaduct portion) was sanctioned for Rs 1,92,00,000 /-. But,
as per the R.E Wall drawings the quantities of earth work increased due to changes in width from
12.05 mts to 16.00 mts and M 15 concrete for levelling pad increased due to change width as per
drawing from (0.45 x 0.15) to (0.60 x 0.20) mts and Reinforced soil wall increased due to levels.
The parapet wall is changed to crash barrier as per drawings this is a new item rate for this item
worked out, thus increased the amount and the estimate for the sub-work is worked out to Rs
2,28,00,000/-. The excess amount is Rs 2,28,00,000 – Rs 1,92,00,000 = Rs 36,00,000/-
(b) The sub-estimate of “Filling in between reinforced soil walls in non-viaduct portion and laying
road crust above filling” was sanctioned for Rs 1,70,00,000/-. But as per the R.E Wall drawings
and as suggested by the IIT professor Chennai the foundation with reinforced soil earth to satisfy
the requirements of the properties C,Ø and plasticity and woven fabric is also provide to load
distributions and stability the soil and hence these two new items are provided in the estimate for
the sub-work is worked out to Rs 2,40,00,000/-. The excess amount due to the excess quantity
over the original estimate and new item is worked out to Rs 2,40,00,000 – Rs 1,70,00,000 = Rs
70,00,000 /-. The net deviation amount is Rs 36,00,000 + Rs 70,00,000 = Rs 1,06,00,000 /-
Further, I submit that the savings in the original T.S estimate is worked out as detailed
below
1) Construction of concrete side drains is Rs 1,70,00,000
Already overall deviations proposals of drains
Submitted for Rs 1,17,00,000
Savings Rs 53,00,000
2) Formation of Service roads sub-estimateis Rs 2,06,00,000 /-
For a length of NP Side 2 x 430 = 860
KP Side 2 x 460 = 920
 1780 Rm
But as per site position NP Side 2 x 370 = 740
KP Side 2 x 390 = 780
1520 Rm
The length of Service road is reduced as per site condition is 1780 – 1520 = 260 Rm
Service road cost per Rm as per Original estimate is RS 2,06,00,000/1780 = Rs 11,573 /1 Rm
Savings due to reduced length is Rs 260 x 11,573 / 1 Rm = Rs 30,08,980 /-

3) HYSD steel in foundations

As per original estimate = 55 mt x Rs 64,100 Rs 35,25,500
As per execution (as per drawing) = 34 mt x Rs 64,100 Rs 21,79,400
Savings Rs 13,46,100

The savings as per worked out above is Rs 53,00,000 + Rs 30,08,980 + Rs 13,46,100 = Rs

96,55,080 /-

The above deviations amount of Rs 1,06,00,000 /- will be met from the overall savings of
the estimate.

2. The L.S of the existing ground levels on LHS and RHS of R E Wall location for each approach
side in the drawings 6 to 13 is furnished as per site and the cross sections with ground levels are
herewith for submitted information and kind perusal

Under the circumstances explained above, I herewith submit the financial implication of
R.E Wall deviations proposal and I request to obtain the necessary approval from the competent
authority at an early date so as to enable us to execute the above items

For a length of NP Side 2 x 430 = 860
KP Side 2 x 460 = 920

But as per site position NP Side 2 x 370 = 740
KP Side 2 x 390 = 780
1520 Rm
The length of Service road is reduced as per site condition is 1780 – 1520 = 260 Rm
Service road cost per Rm as per Original estimate is RS 2,06,00,000/1780 = Rs 11,573 /1 Rm
Savings due to reduced length is Rs 260 x 11,573 / 1 Rm = Rs 30,08,980 /-

3) HYSD steel in foundations

As per original estimate = 55 mt x Rs 64,100 = Rs 35,25,500
As per execution (as per drawing) = 34 mt x Rs 64,100 = Rs 21,79,400
Savings Rs 13,46,100
The overall savings as per worked out above is
Rs 53,00,000 + Rs 30,08,980 + Rs 13,46,100 = Rs 96,55,080 /- The above
deviations amount of Rs 89.00 Lakhs /- will be met from the overall savings of the estimate.

I herewith submit the financial implication of R.E Wall deviations proposal and I request
to obtain the necessary approval from the competent authority at an early date so as to enable us to
execute the above items
