Lab technician

Under indirect supervision, provides technical assistance in the application of civil


engineering principles, methods, and techniques. Conducts materials tests and
measurements according to prescribed methodology and procedural guidelines.
Conducts field inspections, and collects and prepares samples for testing. Oversees
and coordinates laboratory and testing facilities, equipment, and supplies.

Responsible
1. Obtains and prepares soil, rock, and structural samples for testing and
evaluation, using a variety of pre-established and/or devised methods,
techniques, and equipment.
2. Following standardized protocol and procedures, conducts a variety of
complex tests and measurements on materials proposed for use in civil
engineering projects; develops procedures for non-standard tests, as
required.
3. Sets up, calibrates, and utilizes data acquisition/recording equipment and
instrumentation; troubleshoots and repairs equipment and instruments as
required.
4. Records and calculates test results, using standardized methods and
formulae; checks data and calculations for quality, and determines need for
retest; analyzes data and prepares reports.
5. Oversees and coordinates laboratory operations and facilities; supervises the
work of engineering students and/or other technicians engaged in testing
activities.
6. Orders, purchases, and maintains inventories of equipment and supplies
needed for testing purposes; establishes and maintains records of disposition
and operating condition of on-site test equipment.

Requirement

1. Candidate must possess at least Technical Certificate (Civil/Geotechnical)

Operation Clerk
An operations clerk is mainly responsible for administrative practices within the
organization under which he or she is employed. While guidelines pertaining to the
practices of the organization are often furnished to the employee, the operations
clerk, within any organization, must intimately know and understand the procedures
within that organization as well as industry practices. This understanding facilitates
the completion of administrative and clerical tasks. In general.

Requirement

1. Candidate must possess at least SPM or Diploma


2. Experience in administrative duties are also preferred
3. Responsible to person with good communication skills
4. Familiar with using :
a. Managing databases
b. Using computers and other technologies to create presentations,
documents and spreadsheets
c. Dispersing organizational information and news to other employees
and clients
