COURSE GUIDE: Lead and Manage Team Effectiveness BSBWOR502

 This unit will describe the skills and knowledge required to lead teams in the workplace and to

 This course will be delivered in the classroom at Plot 359, Street 5, I-9/3, Islamabad Capital

Course  Course duration is of 4 weeks consisting of 5 classes per week and each class will be of 3 hours.

 This course will be help young learners and professionals in setting better and bright career
opportunities once they go into the market.

Career  Even if they are already employed they can upskill to perform competently at their work place.
Outcomes
 It will open doors for better employment opportunities in a variety of organizations particularly HR,
Marketing and Leadership roles in the market or to perform with skills and strengths in their current
tasks.

 This short course requires the completion of one elective unit (BSBWOR502).
Course
Structure  Electives for qualifications have been chosen by Australian Pacific Institute of Technology to ensure
that students achieve a broad range of skills and knowledge in Marketing, HR and Leadership.

Applicants must have satisfactorily completed year 12 or its Pakistani equivalent i.e. Intermediate, A
Levels, DAE etc.
APIT has a 3-stage enrolment entrance process:
 Successfully completed Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test with minimum LLN score of
Entry Exit Level 4 and issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission
Requirements
 Complete the APIT administered Oxford Placement Test on site. You must achieve a B1 or B2
standing (IELTS equivalence 5.5) and issued within the last 12 months from the time of admission
 Pass a Final Entrance Interview
 Total classroom hours are fifteen (15) hours per week.
 Monday to Friday 05:30 PM to 08:30 PM.
Training  Homework is approximately three (2) hours per week.
Arrangements
 Sessions are held in fully equipped classrooms and a simulated work environment. Students will
need to have their own laptop that has Microsoft Office or similar installed, as well as MYOB Student
Edition. This is at the student’s own cost. Laptops must be fully charged and students must also
bring a USB flash drive.
 Students will be provided with material for learning and activities and will have access to Australian
Pacific Institute of Technology library resources.
 All learning material are provided as part of the course fees.

 Students who wish to continue their education with APIT, may gain entrance into the Australian
Recognised Diploma in IT and Advance Diploma in IT course, and they will receive exemption of the
Education unit BSBWOR502 Lead and Manage Team Effectiveness.
Pathways
 Once they complete the Diploma in Business and Advance Diploma in Business qualification, they
will have the possible 2nd to 3rd year entrance into a 3 year Australian Business Bachelor Program.

Assessment methods used for this unit will provide a range of ways for individuals
to demonstrate that they have met the required outcomes including:
 Projects
Assessment  Presentations
Arrangements
 Report writing
 Observations
 Questioning (oral or written)

All students will be provided with a range of learning support options and resources to help them
achieve competency. This may include:
 Student Counsellor
 Mentoring from Trainers.
 Additional classes, tutorials and workshops.
 Online support and exercises for some courses.
 Computer and technology support.
 Referral to external support services.

Australian Pacific Institute of Technology will provide additional support for any students experiencing:
 Disability and access issues;
Additional  Language barriers;
Support  Language, literacy and numeracy issues;
 Employment issues; and/or
 Any other issues that may affect their ability to achieve their training goals.

Provision of additional support services will be provided where necessary to enable students to
participate in the same way as any other person regardless of whether support services have been
required.

Where there is perceived difficulty in achieving learning goals, the trainer will discuss these issues with
the student. The student will be provided with information about possible alternative pathways,
additional tools and resources available, and options, choices for accessing a supportive network. The
information provided will vary depending on the individual needs of the student.
