1. What is your own definition of educational technology after learning from the discussion on the
different definitions and theories. Substantiate your own definition with classroom-based examples.

For me educational technology define as important means of education that uses systematic
process to create learning more effective through the use of 21st century skills aided with 21st century
gadgets. It is a combination of skills depending on the variety of learners and appropriate tools that
will be using to integrate new learning. It involves different instruction techniques and strategies in
order deliver effective instruction to the learners.

I have realize that technologies in education this time are very important in the learning styles
of the students aside from that, they were born in the digital age that can make their life easier and
faster. They can access the gadgets they have wherever they are around the world. It is a very big
help for the teachers to have this educational technology because the teachers could be able to surf
the internet if they had problems with their lessons. Gadgets were already available around the world
but limitation is the one thing to be considered. Even the hardest thing in this world can be learn step
by step process. Instruction is far different if the teacher is only giving discussion as compared by
giving it with the use of technologies.

The role of educational technology in teaching is of great importance because of the use of
information and communication technologies. With the help of various applications for
distance education, the Internet, teachers, and students themselves, they see the advantage
of educational technology.

2. Why are there a need for an appropriate educational technology in today's classroom and in other
non-teaching workplaces? Elucidate your answer.

There is a need of appropriateness of technology to be used in education that is suited to the


learning abilities of the learners. It is useful if they can use exact tools in learning wherein they can
create something significant on their lives. There are so many technologies can be used but
depending on the skills, creativity and purpose of what is you wanted to do. Learners had different
learning styles that is why there is a need of learning materials related to their interests, skills,
knowledge, and field of specialization. There is a very good impact in learning if they are using related
device and instruction on their performance activities which can lead them to better understanding of
what they are doing. Children now a days are very interested on using gadgets so teachers need to
decide suitable materials for the learning of their students.

Schools can use digital resources in a variety of ways to support teaching and learning like
electronic grade books, digital portfolios, learning games, and real-time feedback on teacher and
student performance, are a few ways that technology can be utilized to power learning. Technology
has the power to transform teaching by engaging in a new model of connected teaching not only in
teaching but also in other fields of work. Technologies used to improve and facilitate learning can be
found everywhere. We have embraced technology in education when it is used for both teaching and
learning. With the incorporation of technology into schools, the main purpose is to change how
teachers and students gather, access, analyse, present and transmit information. Using these could
play a huge part in encouraging critical thinking by teachers as they attempt to integrate technology
into education. For technology to work effectively, it should only be incorporated in classroom if it is
appropriate for a given instructional task. Also, technology can only be an effective teaching tool if
teachers participate in decisions to adopt technology. This is because teachers have the
responsibility of facilitating instruction and incorporating technology at the classroom level.

3. Explain the different opportunities that can be developed from among our children using Gardner's
Multiple Intelligences.

Students have differences in their own pace that is why teachers need to cater the individual
needs of his or her students. Through the use of 21st century technologies and skills, it could be the
answer that awaits them to acquire better learning. We cannot force the students to learn the
calculations in Calculus if he or she exceled in language that there is a need of English Language
Simulation that could provide them wisdom on their own best learning. Teachers must also develop
their own capabilities in order to teach the children on how to become independent and aware of the
skills and talents they have. We teachers must focus on the multiple intelligences of the students
because we do believe that they can learn by means of the skill they have on learning and
discovering something new that can develop their selves to become productive and innovative
member of the society.

Nowadays, we cannot set aside each of our learners because even in their own simple ways
they learn from it. We cannot underestimate the capabilities they had. Howard Gardner gave
emphasis on the multiple intelligences of each individual. You don’t have to teach or learn something
in all eight ways, just see what the possibilities are, and then decide which particular pathways
interest you the most, or seem to be the most effective teaching or learning tools. Teachers had a
chance to give sets of activities to the learners depending of the skills and ability of the learners.
