World Mission Outreach

To proclaim the Gospel; equip the next generation; mobilize the church throughout the world

August 2011

Dear Kingdom builder,

Shalom from Jerusalem via Canada. This update is to pray for Darlene’s family to be saved and also to give God the
glory for what He has done. Half of Darlene’s family is from Canada and the other half from the U.S. We were
blessed to attend our first family reunion on Darlene’s father’s side held in London Ontario, Canada. What began
with Darlene tracing her genealogy in 2007, led to finding her father’s family
in Canada which she had never met. At the reunion, we were introduced to
this beautiful family, but none of them are born again. Some of them are
secular and others have a strong Catholic background. There were 5
generations at this reunion. One of Darlene’s cousins named David, married
a Jewish (reformed background) lady from New York and is raising their kids
under Jewish tradition. We were so grateful to get to know many of our
Canadian relatives. We will continue to meet them and trust Jesus to use us
and the ministry for them to come to know Jesus as Lord in His time.

We stayed with Darlene’s cousin Margaret. She is married to Timothy. Timothy has a Hungarian background, but
was born in Canada as his Father emigrated there from Hungary. They have 2 grown children. After 2 nights being
with Timothy and Margaret, Timothy shared his story about how he received a
miracle kidney. He said that he has not died yet because there is no room in
the inn of heaven yet for him. Before his kidney operation, Timothy said he did
not believe that God existed. A couple he did not know prayed for his healing
and he was touched by their prayer. He began to think about eternal life, but
did not know where to go. I (Henry) was touched by what Timothy had said
about there not being enough room in the inn of heaven for him. I explained
that Jesus is God the Son, who became flesh, died for his sins, and who rose
from the grave according to the Scriptures (I Cor 15). Timothy was touched by
this reality of Jesus. I also explained what Jesus said in John 14, that He is in the Father’s house in heaven making a
room for you. Timothy realized that all he had been waiting for came to him that night. So, Timothy said, “I have
been considering this message for a long time; I am ready to surrender my life to Jesus”. That evening, Timothy
made a decision to make Messiah Jesus His Lord and Savior. He was so full of joy. To God be all the glory!

Two nights later, Margaret and Darlene were engaged in a deep conversation about Israel. After understanding
that God through this nation of Israel became flesh to redeem Israel and the nations of the world, Margaret
popped the question about Jesus! Darlene explained who Jesus is and His Gospel and how Timothy (her husband)
had made the decision to put his faith in HIM. Margaret was also open to the Gospel and wanted what her
husband had received. With tears in her eyes she opened her heart to Jesus as Lord God and Savior. She
st
understood why Jesus died and rose from the grave. It was a great privilege for me (Darlene) to lead my 1 cousin
to the Lord. I actually knew her Mom and Dad when they came to visit my family when I was a small child. My
Father and her Father were very close brothers that kept in touch over the years. My Father was at the last family
reunion in 1982. Please pray for this lovely couple as we are trying to find them a church where they can be
discipled. We were so surprised to see a big Church on the property my grandparents lived on. Maybe it will be
this one. Thank you dear friends for your love, prayers and financial support. The Lord is moving mightily. We really
do thank God for you. Remember it takes TWO. One to send and one to go. We are willing to GO, thank you for
being willing to SEND. Love in Him, Henry and Darlene Matarrita
TESTIMONY TIME: Fruits of the branch of the Vine – John 15

Shalom Everyone! My name is Dora Mahoe. I’m 16 years old and a junior in high school
at Olelo Christian Academy in Kauai, Hawaii. I was adopted from China and I was born
again when I was five. Since then God has really worked in my life and I couldn’t be
happier. I was able to have a wonderful opportunity this summer to go to Israel
through World Mission Outreach. On this mission trip we were sent out to share the
Gospel to Jews and Muslims. I was really challenged to get out of my comfort zone and
obey God when He gave me opportunities to share His love to His people.

One of the times I took the opportunity to minister to someone in Israel was when we were camping on
the Sea of Galilee. I was partnered up with a Jewish believer named Joy and we were walking around seeing if
there was anyone we could talk to. We came across a lady and two guys at their camp site. They were probably in
their mid-twenties. Joy began to talk to them to see what they believed. The lady at the camp site mostly
responded because she spoke English well. She said she was a Jew but she believed that people are gods. She did
not believe that Jesus is God. As they were talking she turned to me and asked me what I believed since I wasn’t a
Jew. I told her that I believed Jesus is the Messiah and that I have a relationship with Him. The lady seemed very
surprised that I said relationship and she asked how that was different from religion. I said that religion is like
knowing a movie star or famous person. You can know everything there is to know about this star forward and
backwards. But if you somehow got their number and called them and said that you know so much stuff about
them, the famous person is going to say, “It’s great that you know all this stuff about me but I’m sorry I don’t know
you. Who are you?” But then I said relationship is like you knowing your best friend. The example I gave for that
was how all three of them knew each other and how they could talk to each other about anything. The
conversation moved on from there but I’m really glad I got to share that with her.

This mission trip was so amazing and it’s really gotten me passionate about working on the mission field.
But I’m reminded constantly that everyday we’re all in our own mission field. We don’t have to be in a foreign
country to see God work in our lives and/or others. God wants to work in you and me right where we are. He
presents us with different opportunities to show His love to people. We just have to keep watching and then obey
when He calls us. When we do that, God will give us the adventure of our lives. Be ready for it!

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people,

especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
