• Does the customer want to maintain the same control configuration indicated above with the new
HMI equipment? Yes / No

Projects with DCS Communication:

• Do any of the <I> computers have a Serial RS-232 MODBUS connection to a DCS system? Please
identify in the <I> CAPABILITY CHART above also: Yes/No

If Yes which <I> (s) have this, and what is the location of the <I>:

• Is the DCS communication going to a <G> computer to support GSM protocol? Yes / No
What is the location of the <G> so that the HMI in that location can be set up with GSM?

• The original <I> equipment hardware style:

- Table Top configuration and sitting on a table
• Detail current components features (desktop or rack mount etc)
o Keyboard
o Mouse or Trackball
o Monitor
o PC (Commercial grade HP or Industrial grade)
OR
- 19” Rack Mount Configuration and mounted in a rack
• Specify all component configurations, if they are rack mounted or on a table
o Keyboard
o Mouse or trackball
o Monitor
o PC (verify Industrial Grade black case with handles)

• Does the site have a current network topology? From GE this was either the ONE LINE or A108 or
4108 network drawing.

Attach a copy. This provides a lot of the information we need for the quotation if it is accurate for the
current configuration at site.

• Is there a redundant MKV ARCNET Stage link called a <D> or does the MKV only have a single
<C> ARCNET Stage link? Yes / No .

• Please indicate connections to ARCNET in the CAPABILITY CHART.

• Is there Power Block Control? Yes / No

- Do you want to keep this on this site? It is not available on the HMI and is
accomplished through a separate PLC application if needed.
To determine if there is Power Block Control the following must apply.

• Do you have a screen on the <I> computer, NOT THE DCS, which allows an operator to set
the site load “ Put 10% on Unit 1, 60% on Unit 2 and 30% on Unit 3 for example?

• DETERMINE IF THE MARK V PANEL IS AN “A” OR “A+” VERSION PANEL

• The earlier “A” or “A+” version Mark V panels have less processing capability than newer
“B” panels and therefore are restricted to fewer interfaces that are asking for data from the
Mark V. Failure to identify this type of panel for an <I> to HMI upgrade can result in
communication errors and possible turbine trips

• IDENTIFICATION OF AN “A” and “A+” VERSION PANEL

o TYPE A or A+ Mark V Controls
 <R> (simplex) and <R>, <S> and <T> (TMR) Cores will always have
531X301DCCA mother board(s) with a 531X306LCCB daughter board on the
mother board(s) for both A and A+ panels
 <C> core and optional <D> core will have 531X301DCCA mother board with
a 531X306LCCB daughter board on the mother board for a TYPE A panel
 <C> core and optional <D> core will have DS200SDCC mother board with a
DS200SLCC daughter board on the mother board for a TYPE A+ panel

• Identification of a “B” version panel

o TYPE B Mark V Controls
• <R> (simplex) and <R>, <S> and <T> (TMR) Cores and <C> (and optional
<D>) cores will always have DS200SDCC mother board(s) with a
DS200SLCC daughter board on the mother board(s) for B panels

• Determine if there is a GE supplied OSM (On Site Monitor) or UOSM (Universal On Site Monitor)
connected to the ARCNET STAGE LINK Yes / No

• Determine if the site is using a GE service called DLN REMOTE TUNING. Yes / No
• Determine the MARK V CPU (lcc and dcc) idle time during turbine operation: This number is
critical to validate if the HMI can be added to this particular MARK V panel.
LCC Idle Time _________ %
DCC Idle Time _________ %

LCC IDLE TIME <C> PROCESSOR

To start the LCC monitor, press the LCC key (SHIFT key followed by DCC
key). On entry to the monitor the display reads:" - 196 MONITOR - "
Pressing ENTER displays the date and 1 second later the time this rev of
software was made. One second after that the number of minutes this
processor has been running is displayed.

Pressing the INC or DEC buttons will walk through the following menu of
functions. Each function can also be accessed directly by keying in the
number followed by ENTER. Increment to menu item 5).

5) IDLE DISPLAY
C A7 24%V 15.09.25 (real time)

In this example the idle time is 24%. Anything below 15% is a concern.

DCC IDLE TIME <R> PROCESSOR

To start the DCC monitor, press the DCC key. On entry to the monitor the
display reads:" - 186 MONITOR - " followed at 1 second by the date this rev
of software was made. Pressing ENTER calls up the DCC main display which
consists of a coded line giving the state of the DCC. Example:

T 77% CRST 0 A7/ (This example shows 77% idle time continuously updated)

DEFINITION OF DATA SHOWN

Symbol in example above Meaning

/ Heart beat indicator / - \ |

This indicator looks like a rotating bar and indicates that the
display is being updated.

A7 DCC I/O status

0 DCC system error counter.

This is a counter that increments every time a DCC error appears.
Text associated with each error type appears on the LCC normal
display in addition to being sent as diagnostic alarms. These errors
can be cleared by the CLEAR ERRORS function described below.

CRST Voting agents

This code indicates which processors are contributing to the vote
cycle which keeps the database updated.

77% DCC idle time

T Agent ID (What is the name of this processor)

• Is there Performance Monitoring? Yes / No

- Is the performance monitoring software on the <I> computer or did ENTER or GE

ENTER provide a separate computer running Performance Monitoring software (EMAP)?

- If the performance monitoring software is on the <I> there will be a specific screen
for the operator to enter the BTU content of the fuel and the fuel composition.

• Do any of the <I> COMPUTERS have a High Resolution Time Board plugged into the back plane
of the computer for Time Synchronization? You will see a card with a connector with 5 leads
spreading out from the single connector typically that connects to the site master clock. Yes / No
If Yes which <I> (s) have this:

- Time Master Signal from a customer device that is producing an IRIG-B time signal
or
- Time Master signal received from a Global Positioning Satellite Receiver supplied by
GE
- Does the customer want to have this same capability on the new HMI system?

• Is there a GE supplied Historian computer? Yes / No

o If there is a Historian is it VAX based?

• The older VAX Historians have the letters "DEC" on the front, Digital
Electronics Corp.
• The VAX must be replaced; does the customer want a new PC
HISTORIAN to replace it?
o If there is a Historian is it PC based?
• The newer PC based HISTORIAN uses a OSI PI data collection system
• Is it desired to replace this existing PC HISTORIAN hardware with a new PC? If yes
please provide the following information
• Salem Shop Order Number (serial number) of the HISTORIAN computer
(i.e.: 3VTWV515HH001)
• Existing OSI PI license size and version:
 On the HISTORIAN you can find what the point count of the
current license by going to:
o VERSION:C:\pi\adm>piversion -v
 The command C:\PI\ADM>PIVERSION -V will
get the PI version (but not the point count).
o SIZE:For new PI 3.3 and PI 3.4 systems (when we
implemented 1000, 5000 and 10000 point licensing) the licensed
point count can be determined with the following command:
 C:\PI\BIN\PINETMGR -X
 This command does not work on PI 3.2 systems. PI
3.2 systems were always 10000 point (as far as we recall).
• Note that any PC HISTORIAN that shipped from
Salem prior to December 2001 (that has not been
modified) will have a 10,000-point PI license. It was
not until 2002 that Salem started purchasing smaller
licenses than 10,000 points. But it is the Salem ship
date that is the measurement, not site installation date or
commissioning date.
• Please indicate the desired status of the existing historical data on the current
HISTORIAN:
o Not included on the new HISTORIAN (base)
o Add to the new HISTORIAN (optional prices)
 Option 1: Only add data collected up to point PO is placed with
GE
 Option 2: Add data collected up to time of commissioning of
new HISTORIAN

• Do any of the <I> computers have an AUDIBLE ALARM BOX attached to them that makes a
sound when a new alarm occurs? Yes / No
Does the customer want AUDIBLE ALARMS on the new HMI or any of the new HMI’s? Yes / No

EX2000 Generator Excitation on the ARCNET STAGE LINK

If separate ARCNET STAGE LINKS are going to be tied into a single ARCNET STAGE LINK with
this quote request, EX2000 equipment that is connected to the ARCNET must have ARCNET addresses
updated in their software in the factory.
• Please identify EX2000 units that are connected to the ARCNET on the topology provided or
verbally
• Does the EX2000 equipment have a local operator panel in the front door of the EX2000 equipment?
It is called an IOS (Intelligent Operator Station). This is the key piece of information needed as this
is the device that requires re-engineering.
