DXX 8170 Cluster Node
Managed Access System
General
The DXX 8170 Cluster Node is a member of the
Ericsson DXX 8000 Managed Access System
intended for cellular transport systems. It is a
1/0 cross-connect with fully non-blocking cross-
connections between the ports. The maximum
cross-connect capacity (ports’ total bandwidth)
is 512 Mbit/s providing:
8 × STM1 ports (155 Mbit/s)
64 × E2 ports (8 Mbit/s)
256 × E1 ports (2 Mbit/s)
320 × T1 ports (1.5 Mbit/s)
n × 64 kbit/s ports
or any mix up to 512 Mbit/s
DXX 8170 Cluster Node is comprised of one
master and up to 8 slave subracks. The maxi-
mum of each slave is 64 Mbit/s.
The DXX 8170 is intended for use as a large hub,
a concentrator and traffic distributor in the back-
bone transport network.
The DXX 8170 is completely managed from the
Ericsson DXX 8100 Network Manager.
