GENERAL INFORMATION

WEATHER IN BALI
Bali is an Indonesian island, located just a few degrees south of the equator, and has a tropical climate, hot all year round.
However from December to March, the west monsoon can bring heavy showers and high humidity, but days are still
often sunny with the rains starting in the late afternoon or evening and passing quickly. From June to September, the
humidity is low and it can be quite cool in the evenings. At this time of the year there is hardly any rain in the lowland
coastal areas. At higher elevations such as Bedugul or Kintamani, it gets distinctly chilly and you will need either a
sweater or jacket after the sun sets. Temperatures are high and uniform throughout the year. They are slightly higher
from October to March, when the daily average is around 27 °C (81 °F), and a bit lower from June to September, when the
daily average is around 26 °C (79 °F). Moreover, hot days are possible all year round (except in January, at the height of
the rainy season), with peaks of 37/40 °C (99/104 °F). In the rainy season, high relative humidity makes the heat muggy.

All foreigners wishing to enter Indonesia must have a Passport valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival

More Information on imigration available at: www.imigrasi.go.id

Passport holders of all other countries and non-tourists of the aforementioned countries must obtain valid Indonesian
visas at an Indonesia Embassies or Consulates in their home country prior to departure to Indonesia. For details and
enquiries please contact the Indonesian Embassy in your home country.

LETTER OF INVITATION
Invitation letter or other necessary documents to obtain Indonesia Visa will be provided by the Secretariat of 16th APCP,
9th ASMIPS (PIT), and 6th APCPN based on request. However this letter aims to assist participants for their travel to
Indonesia and does not imply any commitment for the Organization Committee to provide nancial support.

BANKING CURRENCY
The Indonesia Rupiah is also called IDR. Information of daily exchange rate can be found in newspapers or from the net.
Some Indonesia banks provide this on their websites. IDR and US$ are the most acceptable currencies. Most tourism
resorts have money changer facilities. When you are traveling to remote areas it is advisable to exchange your money
and clear your check. Credit cards are only acceptable in big hotels, restaurants, shops and traveling agencies
Rough exchange rate:
Rp. 10,615 = 1 AUD
Rp. 13,315 = 1 USD
Rp. 16,332 = 1 EUR
(Currency rate as of January 2018)

25
ATM
Automatic Teller Machines are mushrooming all over the island, especially at shopping centre and bank branches. It will
be easy for you to nd one in any of the main tourist centres. Most of them are connected to international banking
networks thus making it possible to look for machines that are affiliated with your own ATM network. You can draw
usually between 1.5 million and 3 million in one go. Thus if you need more money you will have to pull several times
adding to the bank charges, as each transaction counts. There should be a sticker on the machine, which says either
50.000 or 100.000. Naturally, the ones with Rp. 100.000 bills can go up to 2.5 or 3 million.

AIRPORT TAX
An airport tax of IDR 150,000 is levied by airports on departing passengers on international ights and IDR 40,000 for
those on domestic routes. Most airline today incorporate airport tax into their total tickets cost on purchase. Do make
sure that this is already included.

ELECTRIC CURRENT
Electric power supply is 220 volts in all regions. So be careful with your 110-volt electronic equipment. The sockets will
only t with two pins rounded-tip plugs (technically known as Type C, E, and F) or use adaptors. Most hotels and many
restaurants in large cities provide internet connections or free WiFi.
