St. Joseph’s Cemetery Committee Announcement

In an effort to enhance and beautify the appearance of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, the cemetery
committee is accepting donations to remove the front/north fence, replacing it with a maintenance-free
black wrought iron fence with limestone columns at an estimated cost of approximately $10-15,000
(updated bid). The committee would sincerely appreciate parish and community donations to help with this
cost; and checks can be made payable and mailed to St. Joseph’s Church (“Cemetery” on the memo line).

ALSO: The weather has damaged many flower arrangements. In order to maintain and mow the cemetery, we ask that any
flower or memorial arrangements not securely placed on headstones be picked up by Sunday, June 9th. THANK YOU!

OLPE ALL VETERANS MEMORIAL

The Olpe Veterans Committee is currently making plans for the Olpe Veterans Memorial.
The proposed memorial will be in Olpe Jones Park, just north of the Methodist Church. We have
received several donations but we are still in need of additional funds in order to match a
$25,000 grant.
Names of Olpe area deceased veterans will be placed on a granite stone, similar to those at
the Emporia Veterans Memorial, free of charge. Additional names of veterans, living or
deceased, will be added for a donation of $125 or more. Donations should be made out to OLPE
VETERANS MEMORIAL and sent to the Olpe State Bank, P O Box 207, 202 Westphalia, Olpe,KS
66865. Thank you!
