AIM OF THIS MODULE:

For the values coaches:

1. To set specific guidelines for the values coach.
2. To implement the MBK program to be launched to the specific station.

For the MBK squad leader and members:

1. To be used as initial guide in the weekly quality time meeting of each
squad.
2. To be able to input values-based topics that can be shared during each
quality time session and possibly be applied practically.

Theme: “God-Centered, Community-Based, Family-

I – MBK STEP SQUAD CONCEPT

The average ratio of each group team will be:
1 squad = 1 Squad Leader + members
1 squad = 1 or more values coaches
II- MECHANICS
1. Values coaches Attire/Grooming – For men: Long or short sleeves
barong/ or long sleeves in formal pants. For women: Long skirt and closed
neck blouses are required. Observe proper haircut.
2. Lesson Materials – An Instruction Manual (Bible) and prepared lesson
materials shall be used during the quality time meeting.
2-1 The Lesson to be discussed shall be standardized from the region, to the
model station, and throughout the stations. Lesson topics will solely be
based on the MBK core values:

3. Group Discussion Sequence
3-1 The Values coach together with the squad leader shall recommend a
comfortable place to discuss together that is free from severe noise
disturbance; whenever available, seats are encouraged to be arranged in
circle for each team.
3-2 Start the meeting with opening prayer (by the then by the next meetings
upon discretion of the values coach together with the squad leader, assign a
team member to do the prayers)
3-3 During the first session, the Squad Leader and values coach will discuss
the purpose of the MBK quality time meeting. During the 2 nd session and
onwards, the values coach with the squad leader shall review previous topic

of each quality time meeting.
3-4 The values coach together with the squad leader shall follow the
standard lesson sequence provided in the manual.
Discussion shall proceed to build a stronger relationship between each

3-5 During the quality time meeting period, values coach together with the
squad leader might opt to allow their team to recite/read verses, sing
hymnals (from bible verses), and special prayers.
As part of team building approaches the values coach together with the
squad leader might consider to recognize birthday celebrants, anniversaries,
and other important events celebrated by the squad members.
3-6 The session shall end in a closing prayer.
4. Schedule and DURATION
Timeline: 10 Sessions (10 weeks)
Ideal Squad Day/ Time: Tuesdays 11:30- 12:30 (1 Hour per week)
CESPO/PESPO Confirmation for Schedules that might not be possible
with other team.
Session Duration:
1. Opening Prayer/ Session Discussion (25 minutes)
2. Open Forum/Sharing (15 minutes)
3. Prayer Requests and Prayer (15 minutes)
5. Monitoring Record
Monitoring record for every quality time meeting session shall be
kept. CESPO/PESPO determines compliance of each squad quality time
meeting.
6. MBK Program Prevalence
In case there are urgent guidelines approved by the RHQ which were
not included in the details mentioned in this guide, the squad leader shall
receive instruction from the COP or CESPO/PESPO for dissemination and
implementation.
7. LESSON OUTCOME
The result or practical application of the “GOD-CENTERED, SERVICE-
ORIENTED, FAMILY-BASED LIFE” concept is essential.
After each session, weekly sharing of experiences will be shared by
the squad members for life application. For example, the lesson for the week
emphasized, family bonding or family prayer, each squad members shall be
asked if the said expected outcomes have transpired. The squad leader
monitors all the compliances. The expected outcome shall be reported in
the form of picture or honest sharing of each squad member during the
weekly quality time meeting.
POST SESSION ACTIVITIES
After the 10 sessions are completed, squad leaders shall continue
the methodology of discussion as presented in this manual during their next
weekly quality time meeting. The values coach may remain as guide to
counsel and pray for the team. Once the weekly quality time is already in
placed, the squad leader or assigned in charge shall continue the discussion
and ask for specific values to be discussed and applied by the team for the
week.
IMPORTANT REMIMDERS TO THE VALUES COACH
1. Practice Punctuality. Always be on time. Be at the venue at least 10
minutes before the session to prevent you from cramming.
2. Always wear that sincere and approachable smile. Remember, we are
God’s tools to build lives, not to make it miserable.
3. Be a spiritual Guide. Reflect the biblical truth in you before, during, and
after the quality time meeting.
4. Remember the Theme: “God-Centered, Community-Based, Family-
Oriented” – Always challenge every member to make it as a way of life.

I- Introduction
THE SITUATION
Today, our country is faced with tough challenges economically,
politically, socially, etc. Our government has tried several programs that
would try to change the perspective of our countrymen. These are
campaigns that call for a change in perspective that would ideally promote
peace and order in our country. In 1989, the REPUBLIC ACTS 6713 CODE OF
CONDUCT AND ETHICAL STANDARDS FOR PUBLIC OFFICIALS was formulated.
It was followed by PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION NO. 62 otherwise known
as MORAL RECOVERY PROGRAM. In 1997, the DECS Values Enhancement
Program formulated the UNESCO National Commission of the Philippines,
Education Committee Project. The ultimate goal of that government through
these initiatives was to attract change in the people’s way of life and make
an impact to their family, community, and country.The question is: “How can
each citizen realize the meaning of change?” A change in the way of life
where God will be the center, a change of life where every public servant
shall become service-oriented, and a change of life wherein the family being
the core institution established by God shall be the ultimate base of core
values.
THE NEED
As the world system evolves together with the emerging problems
in the society, there is a need for a direct solution to the immediate
problem. The problem might not be the environment to where the people
exist; the ultimate problem that we need to address is the people itself.
There is need for a change in our lives; not external but internal. There is a
quote that says, “The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart”.
THE ULTIMATE SOLUTION
There are more than enough ways to change a man internally. We
might call it internal cleansing; not physical but values-based cleansing. Our
drive to immediately promote internal change shall be bordered by the
concept, “GOD-CENTERED, SERVICE-ORIENTED, FAMILY-BASED LIFE”. The
cascading of this concept shall be brought to the attention of the individuals
by allowing them to listen, conceptualize, internalize, and apply the
important values and principles to be discussed in every session.
BASIC CONCEPTS ABOUT MAN’S CHARACTER
At first, let us look at the concept of the Law of Sowing and Reaping:

Character is an internal value. Internal change in man’s perspective
require a change in character. One must understand that character is an
integral part of the inner man called soul. The one we see on a man is his
external being. The one who thinks, decides, and feels is the inner man. The
characteristics of man’s soul are:
Intellect – that aspect which tells me whether the issue is right or wrong
Sensibility – that aspect which tell me what I would like to do about the
issue.
Conscience - that aspect that tells me what I should do about the issue.
Will - that aspect which tells me what shall I do about the issue.
There was a surgeon in the United States who studied that once he
touch a part of a stroke patient’s brain, a part of the body can
simultaneously move, and even the affected body part could be
repositoned. However, according to the same surgeon, he can never make
the same person feel in love with a specific woman when a part of the brain
is touched. He simply mean that even medical doctors can not make any
man intellectual, sinsible, conciencious, and willful by the use of any surgical
means.
SOUL TO SIN
 The soul to where man’s character is assimilated was the ultimate
target for destruction. The ultimate assailant has been the devil. As Lucifer
was condemed by God because of arrogance, he has been very eager to
draw more allies to him by deceiving many. He first decided to cheat the
first couple, Adam and Eve. God forbad the couple to eat the fruit of the
tree of knowledge of good and evil because God said if they will eat it, they
shall surely die. But the devil lied to them by making them believe that they
will live. The question is, “ After they violated God’s command, did they died
physically? God said, “You shall die”. So, what must have died? The truth is,
It was not the physical death. It was the “RELATIONSHIP” of God to man
that has died. DEATH here simply means “SEPARATION” of man from God.
The fact that Adam and Eve realized their nakedness in the sight of God was
then the first manifestation of their “GUILT” which was felt by their inner
being. Guilt from then became the product of “SIN”.
Psalms 119:11 says,
“Thy Word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.”
It is therefore the God in accordance to His Word that can help us
get out from the bondage of sin. So that like Adam and Eve instructed by
God with His Voice, it is God’s written voice now that we can use to learn a
lesson from that first greatest human sin. When we read God’s Word’s we
can be guided to combat the temptations of the devil. Remember this
quote, “ A Bible verse a day, keeps the devil away.”
II- LESSON DETAILS

SIN TO DESTRUCTION
God cursed man to get out of the garden of Eden and that from then
they shall eat out of their tillage of the ground. God cursed the ground with
their physical body saying,” From dust thou art, and to dust thou shalt
return.” Then the soul that sinned shall be turned into everlasting
punishment in hell. The soul was cursed because of man’s first sin – the sin
of DISOBEDIENCE.

THE CURSED SOUL NEEDS A REMEDY AND THE CURING PROCESS NEEDS AN
INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Anything bought from any store has manual enclosed with its
packaging. Cellphones, appliances, gadgets require manual instructions.
When the unit breaksdown, there is a “REPAIR MANUAL” as guide to fix it.
Relatively, the cursed soul can still be pardoned or fixed. And we
need a manual for it. In time past, thousands of secular and religious books
and literatures were published to reveal insights about status of God’s
relationship to man. However, the closest instruction annual so far that can
drive a soul back to God for pardon is no other than His word itself. To serve
as our reference, this book shall now become our guide manual in this
module.

THE MBK’S IMPACT IN OUR LIVES

The topics discussed in this manual was drafted to guide our squad
leaders and their squad members on how the weekly quality time will be
facilitated. The method of discussion allows every member of the squad to
share their ideas and thoughts. With the presence of the values coaches,
spiritual guidance can be possible during the discussion.
However, this manual, the methodology, the presence of the values
coaches can not guarantee the effectiveness unless the real essence of
“internal cleansing” concept becomes realistic in the life of every
participating individual. These are intruments that will be used by God to
impact lives.
This manual can not change us, the concept can not change us, the
values coaches can not change us, and even the people around us can not
change us. But the all powerful, all knowing, and omnipresent can change
us. He has the power to cleanse our thoughts and hearts . Sincerely ask
forgiveness for our sins. Then turn to God from sin, 180 degrees. Start living
a life under God’s will. Then seek God’s will through His Word daily.
Regradless of any struggles and battles every one have faced in this
life, we can assure a great victory with God!
