• Project Giving will be Steemit’s and the Steem blockchain’s first NGO
whose primary goal will be raising funds through Steemit to support
charitable initiatives around the world which seek to improve their
local communities and/or the environment around them.

• Project Giving will achieve this by writing blogs on Steemit which

share the interesting and heartwarming stories behind these
charitable initiatives.

• SBD Payouts from blog posts will be sent to these initiatives in order
to help them continue their projects, but now with the help of
Steemit and Project Giving.
• Project Giving reaches out to initiatives
Initiative expressing how our project can help.
• Initiatives fill out a proposal expressing
selection what they are, how they help their
community, what they need funds for.

• Initiatives which show potential must then send

us pictures of the work they do, and some sort of
Blog certification to show legitimacy.
development • Once these steps are done, we use the
information they have given us in their proposal
and pictures to compile a blog post for them.

• Blog has 7 days to make as

Fund much as possible.
collection & • SBD payout is then taken off
Transfer Steemit and transferred to
initiative
• As of now, initiatives which we support need to be helping to improve their
local communities or environment, or are creating positive change in some
way.

• Initiatives must show that they are non-profit, have done existing work,
and explain to us what they will do with funds donated.

• Projects can be from on or off Steemit, however, if they are off Steemit,
their initiative must have some sort of certification.

• Projects which we see potential in must fill out a template proposal for us
which includes: Who they are, how their project started, what it does and
has done, why they need more help and what they will do with it.
• The blogs will have three major functions:

• 1. They must be able to convince people that this initiative should be donated
to and supported in their cause (emotional, expressive, honest).

• 2. The blogs should have a narrative, they tell the story of the initiative and
the people behind it. This allows for posts to be motivational, showcasing the
fact that people all around the world are trying to create positive change.

• 3. The blogs should be informative so that the reader is left with more
information about the cause he/she is donating to. For example, facts about
the country, an explanation of some of the issues which the initiative is faced
with or has to tackle.
• The success of our project is rooted in its ability to raise funds. This is the most important aspect
of making Project Giving a reality.

• Funds are raised through gaining a large following of Steemians, courting Steem Whales, creating
partnerships with more initiatives with large payouts such as SndBox, Curie & MinnowBooster etc.

• We should think about ways in which we can reward users for their donations: perhaps a tally of
who has donated the most to causes every month. This way people might even gain more
followers themselves by being featured on our donators lists. This would be appealing to Steemit
Whales and people who are seeking witness nomination.

• A proposal will be made specifically to send to whales and other organizations explaining why it is
in their interest to support our project. (e.g. Showcases the power of blockchain in creating
positive global change for those in need.
What needs to be done: What has been done so far:
1. Graphics and Post design
• Project Giving Steemit page has been created
2. Start working on Introduce Yourself post for (@projectgiving)
Project Giving.

3. Put together proposals for creating financial • Initial logo designs

partnerships with whales and Steemit funding
organizations.
• Financial accountability structure
4. Begin writing our first Initiative post.
• Initial initiative has been found, (YOKAENSO,
5. Find more initiatives to support. Tanzania) they have filled out and sent their
proposal along with certification and pictures.
6. Transfer funds, create first accountability post.
Deadline for task 1: Saturday, 2nd June

• Final Logo must be completed.

• We need to come up with color scheme and layout which will be consistent among
our posts.
• Creation of templates (markdown and graphics) which can be used by members to
create initiative blog posts.

• Team members working in this section: @kymio, @mnallica, @anna-mi

Deadline for task 2: Sunda, 3rd June
• Finalized version of proposal for project. First official post on @ProjectGiving
• Should include our project history
• Concise and attractive explanation of the project
• Clearly explain why this project showcases the best use of Steemit and blockchain.
• Introduce how initiatives are chosen and how money goes from Steemit to them.
• Outline how the project hopes to grow and develop in the future
• Encourage Steemit members to reach out to us about initiatives they know of.
• Task 3 must coincide with this so that we ensure that our introduce yourself post goes
viral on Steemit (hopefully).

• Team members working in this section: @tristanoliff, @travelling-two + task 1 team

Deadline for task 3: Saturday 2nd June
• Create a PDF proposal to share with whales and other financiers on Steemit to convince them to support
our project and use their Steempower for good.
• This part of the task should be done as soon as possible in order to allow for time to court financiers before Introduce
yourself post.

• Using existing connections along with financer proposal explained above, we start to approach affluent
Steemit users to support our project – this comes with the opportunity to be one of the early adopters of
our revolutionary project.

• We also need to create a system whereby our largescale financiers will always or most of the time upvote
our initiative posts so that we have a basic idea of how much donations we can bring in per post.

• Team members working in this section: @mnallica, @golddenjay, @anna-mi, @raj808, @dedicatedguy
Deadline for task 4: Tuesday 5th June
• First post will be created using logo and graphics designed by task 1 team.
• The final layout and content of first post will have to be agreed on by the group as a whole
• First post will promote YOKAENSO, Tanzania: a community based initiative started in Mwanza
Tanzania which seeks to environmental conservation and create youth employment &
empowerment.
• The proposal which this initiative filled out will be posted on the discord group and I can send it to you by request.

• Team members working on this section: Everyone

Deadline for task 5: Wednesday 6th June
• While we are working on all these different tasks, it is imperative that we find more initiatives to
support. These can be from Steemit or off it and in any field as long as they fit the parameters
outlined the “How to find initiatives slide”.

• The team member who successfully courts an initiative has the opportunity to write the blog post
on them since they are the ones to discover them. This way, everyone should be able to
eventually write their own blog post on the project page.

• Team members working on this section: @Travelling-Two, @imaginedragon, @golddeejay,

@dedicatedguy + Everyone who can!
Deadline for task 5: After payout from first initiative post
• We need to create a template for our accountability posts.
• While this is a temporary name for the post, these blogs will show proof that all funds made by the
initiative blog post have been sent to the initiatives in full.

• Weekly accountability posts will also serve other functions.

• These posts will also be an opportunity for us to advertise future initiatives which we will be writing about
or updating the followers on how previous donations are being used.
• These posts will also be used to thank large scale donors, or people who have donated multiple times, in
other words creating a loyalty program to encourage people to consistently like our iniatives blogs for free
publicity.
• Revenue made from these posts will be used for operational costs associated with the
project.

• Team members working on this section: @raj808, @tristanoliff

• This project will rely heavily on ingenuity, creative thinking and proactivity.
If you feel like the project could benefit from an idea, please share it so we
can try and incorporate into the structure.

• There is huge potential for growth in the project, but it will only get off the
ground through the successful completion of steps 1-6! This can only be
done through teamwork amongst all of us.

• I believe the best part of this project is the fact that once the project is up
and running, all of us in the group will have the opportunity to look for
initiatives around the world and actually give them meaningful support

• Finally, my personal ambition for this project is to have successfully

supported at least one initiative in every inhabited continent by the end of
the summer! Do you think we can do it?
