INSTRUCTIONS
Read the instructions carefully before downloading the application.
This application is meant only for regular Ph.D.(F.T./P.T.) programmes for the academic year
2018-2019 offered in the University Departments / Affiliated Colleges and Recognized
Research Institutions. It is NOT for CATEGORY-B stream.
1 Application Form and Prospectus for Ph.D. (FT/PT) programme can be downloaded from
the University website: www.b-u.ac.in/Home/Downloadforms
2 Cost of Application for Ph.D. Rs. 600/-
3 The above said application fees payable in the form of Demand Draft from any
Nationalized Bank / Challan (Bank of India) shall be drawn in favour of “The Registrar,
Bharathiar University, Coimbatore”, (mention name of the candidate at the backside of
the DD).
4 If a candidate applies for more than one college, he/she has to apply separately for each
college along with Demand Draft/Challan for Rs.600/- for Ph.D.programme towards
the cost application.

5 Candidate should go through the prospectus carefully regarding Eligibility Criteria,

Name of the College/University Departments, courses offered, i.e. Full time or Part time
6 The Application consists of two copies (First Copy and Second Copy)

A) FOR ADMISSION TO THE UNIVERSITY DEPARTNMENTS:

First Copy (without any enclosures) has to be sent to The Registrar,

Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and the Second Copy along with all attested xerox
copies of certificates from 10th std onwords and original Demand Draft / Challan has to
be sent to the Heads of the concerned department of Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore-46
B) FOR ADMISSION TO THE AFFILIATED COLLEGES OF
BHARATHIAR UNIVERSITY/ APPROVED RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS:

First copy with original Demand Draft/Challan (without any enclosures) has to
be sent to The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore-46 and the Second Copy
along with all attested xerox copies of certificates from 10th std onwords has to be sent
to the Principal / Director of concerned College / Institution.
7 Admission will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the PG degree,
Commmon Entrance Test (CET July 2017 only) and the interview conducted at the
time of admission.
The filled in applications should reach to the University, concerned colleges and the
Research Institution on or before 10.04.2018 (5.00 pm). For further details, kindly go
through the prospectus and Modified Regulations- 2015.
