The Star Inn has been consistently voted one of the country’s top restaurants in the 18 years since
award-winning Chef/Owner, Andrew Pern’s arrival at this ‘absurdly pretty’ C14th thatched pub.
With its great reputation for highly seasonal menus featuring the best of North Yorkshire produce,
the food alone would make this the ideal wedding destination, but add to this the warm ‘home-cured’ hospitality and the stylishly quirky
setting in the quiet little village of Harome, and the stage is set for a truly unforgettable day - and a proper party to remember for the rest of
your lives together!
The Wheelhouse at Cross House Lodge, literally just across the road from the historic pub, is licensed for wedding ceremonies and civil
partnerships. Exclusive use of the hotel building provides a deliciously intimate and relaxed venue to welcome your guests for wedding
breakfasts and evening celebrations for up to 200 people; a fantastic place to dine and dance the night away!
Wig… … wam (Kata)! A place to mingle!
The lawns adjoining the hotel allow flexible space for your choice of kata, yurt or marquee. It is even possible to link a marquee to the hotel
building by means of a ‘tunnel’ and still leave the terrace available for canapés, drinks and/or mingling purposes. Smaller weddings of up to 40
guests can also be accommodated within the hotel building when the Wheelhouse is used for the celebration lunch or dinner, and we offer
smaller weddings midweek, provided that all nine of our highly individual (and slightly quirky!) rooms are taken within the Hotel. It’s the
perfect place to get hitched in the countryside!
Sipping champagne on the Terrace… inside a Yorkshire Yurt… or the traditional option… (sunshine f.o.c!)
Our festive ‘winter wonderland’ decor in the Lodge
leading up to and over the Christmas period make
the hotel especially popular for cosy winter
weddings held within Cross House Lodge using the
lounge with its central log fire, flickering candles,
scents of pine and citrus – seasonal comfort and joy
– and the festive fun of our Narnia-theme extending
to the lion and the wardrobe, lamp and furs, but no
witch!
