Determination of resistance to liquids

The resistance to liquids is determinated by ISO 2812-1:1993 (E), method 3.

The test was carried out at a temperature of 23 °C (± 2). The test panel was placed in a horizontal position and a number of drops of
the test liquid was applied to the coating, each approximately 0.1 ml in volume.

The center of the drops were at least 20 mm apart and at least 12 mm from the edge of the panel. The panel was left undisturbed for
one hour. After this period the panels were washed thoroughly in running water or with a solvent depending on the test liquid used.
Immediately after this process the panel was examined for any signs of coating deterioration.

Note: For coating systems subject to permanent immersion please contact your local HEMPEL office.
