Activity – The selection of a Driver

Your college wants to appoint a driver, for which the college released an advertisement in
a daily newspaper. You are the HR executive entrusted with the job of selecting this driver.
From a number of applications you choose two for a final interview. After interviewing
them you realized that both the candidates had good skills of driving and possessed the
following qualities:

1. Has a valid driving license for four-
wheeler.
2. Has an experience of 9 years of
driving cars and taxis.
3. Technically sound and can fix minor
snags & problems.
4. Has good driving skill. Can drive well
as checked by a driving test.
5. Not ready to work beyond the office
hours, whereas college director may
need him anytime of day/night.
6. Smokes & drinks in the night and
looses control.
7. Previous employer report says that he
is punctual but asks for leaves
frequently and bluntly replies, lacks
courtesy.
8. Maintenance cost of vehicle is high. It
is generally not kept neat & clean-
previous employers report.
9. Cannot be trusted for money and
maintenance dealings.
10. Well conversant with local
topography & logistics.

and smoke.
7. Previous employer says is very
disciplined, well behaved, very
courteous and humble.
8. Vehicle is well kept; maintenance
costs are optimum-previous
employers report.
9. Fully trust-worthy.
10. Well conversant with local
topography and logistics

Both the candidates are ready to accept the offered salary of Rs. 6000/- p.m. Which one
