former Brisbane girl Sarah Morrison
has returned home just in time for
the holiday season. Conveniently, Mamma Mia
opens in Brisbane on Boxing Day, giving Sarah
the opportunity to enjoy some much-needed
quality time at home with her family.
While she now lives a self-declared ‘gypsy
lifestyle’, often living out of a suitcase, Brisbane
will always be home for the talented performer.
How will you spend your time here, when
you’re not performing? Just catching up with
family and friends mostly. I spend a lot of time
around Fish Lane between shows.
How have you seen Brisbane change
since moving away? Every time I come
home, I’m just so blown away by how much
Brisbane has developed. I have a great group
of girlfriends in Brisbane who really have their
finger on the pulse of all the cool places.
Favourite local bar? Gerard’s Bar.
How does it feel to be performing in
such an iconic role? It feels a little surreal.
I remember seeing the production when I was
12 years old and thinking “this is what people

many girls I guess. SARAH MORRISON

THE ROUND UP
Holidays are here! With nothing but time to kill,
lose yourself in one of these can’t-put-down reads.
by Tamille Head
WORLDS OF YOU
The bestselling author of The Anti-
Cool Girl returns with a devastating,
heartbreaking, brilliant, brave and laugh-
out-loud funny memoir of truth, lies and
everything in between. A raw, beautiful, sad,
shocking and hilarious memoir of all the lies
we tell others and the lies we tell ourselves.
WHAT HAPPENED
For the first time, Hillary Clinton reveals what
she was thinking and feeling during one of
the most controversial and unpredictable
presidential elections in history. She describes
what it was like to run against Trump, how she
coped with a devastating loss, and how she
found the strength to pick herself back up. An
inspiring read for the feminist in all of us.

2018 season.
So, when it comes to the festive season,
what does Christmas mean to the Thaidays?
Keen lovers of food and wine, Christmas Day is
a big affair in the Thaiday household. But sadly,
there’ll be no slacking off his strict diet and
fitness regime for Sam, who is preparing for
the 2018 footy season.
“Christmas Day for us has always been
about lots of laughter and happiness with the
family,” Rachel says.
“We love big Christmas’s with the family,
extended family and our closest friends. The
more the merrier is my motto. Mum always
made Christmas a big deal for us growing up.”
Sam and Rachel have called Brisbane home
for over 16 years, but are still discovering
hidden gems close to home, such as the Roma

month’s cover.
“We live in a nice spot of Brisbane that has
lots of little watering holes nearby, so we tend
to go and explore them,” Sam says.
