Lawaan III National High School, a public secondary school in Lawaan III, Talisay City, Cebu,
is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all the students so they will learn
in a positive and secure atmosphere.
As a school, it’s mission is to be one where each individual is valued and respected and that
the needs of all the learners are met by offering them opportunities for learning so as to develop their
full potentials.
Bullying of any kind is unacceptable in this school. If bullying does occur, all students should
be able to tell and know that these incidents will be dealt with promptly and effectively.

PROCEDURES IN HANDLING BULLYING INCIDENTS IN SCHOOLS (modified from DEPED


Child Protection Policy)
 it shall be acted upon by the School Head who shall inform the parents or guardians of the
victim and offending child;
 the incident will be referred to the Child Protection Committee for counseling and other
intervention.
 If warranted, penalties may be imposed by the School Head.

Penalties :
1st Offense – reprimand with anecdotal records and parents’ notice
2nd Offense – 1stWritten warning with parents’ signature
3rd offense and subsequent time – advice to transfer to another school.

1. The child and the parents or guardians must be informed of the complaint in writing;
2. The child shall be given the opportunity to answer the complaint in writing, with the assistance
of the parents or guardians;
3. The decision of the school head must be in writing, stating the facts and the reasons for the
decisions;
4. The decision of the school head may be appealed as provided in existing rules of the
Department.
If the bullying or peer abuse resulted in serious physical injuries or death, whenever appropriate, the
case shall be dealt with in accordance with the provisions of Republic Act No. 7610 and its
Implementing Rules and Regulations.

Depending on the gravity of the bullying committed by any pupil, student or learner, the school may
impose other non-disciplinary measures.
