The valves must be handled, traansported and sttored with care.
1.2 Prepara

The valves ha

transport. The following measuures are to be takken:
The valve is to be packed, stored and transsported in the cloosed position onlly. The machined d end surfaces on n
the flangees and welding ennds are to be treaated with suitable grease/oil befoore packing. These areas are to bee
covered wwith plastic caps oor wood which arre required to be fastened to the fflanges or valve.
Are valves to shipped withh a bare stem then the bare stem m is required to bbe covered with a a plastic cap or aa
piece of p
pipe for protectioon.
The packing must be accoording to custom mer specification. The packing muust ensure that the valves can bee
safely transported and stoored at site until installed. Especially the actuationn and the ends o
of the valves thatt
will be connected to the p ipe must be prottected from mech hanical and enviroonmental influennces.
1.3 Transpo

a. Packed Va alves
Valves packed in iron‐barrred boxes are to o be carefully lifted and transportted by a hand lifft of a fork lift. Iff
packed inn a wooden box tthen the box must be lifted via th he pre‐determineed and marked h hook points only..
All transports are to be doone carefully obse erving the local reegulations applicaable.
b. Unpacked d Valves
Valve es heavier than 110Kg should be transported
t on pallets
p or similar using assisting lifting equipmentt
such as a hand lift or fork lift. During ttransport it is important not to daamage machined d surfaces. Liftingg
and transporting to bee done considerin ng the transport weight of such vaalves.
For la arge and therefoore heavy valves hooks and ropess are to be used.. They must be cconnected to thee
valve in a safe manneer balancing the weight to avoid a sudden shift oof weight or the fall down of thee
valve.
