Teaching and Learning : Set Induction:


Activities a. Show slides of pictures extracted from textbook page 51.

Step 1:
a. Review the pictures shown previously and prompt pupils to find the
cause.

d. Teacher prompts pupils to say aloud the colour coding used for recycle
bins.

Step 2:
a. Review the pictures on textbook page 52.

Step 3:

Pre – lesson 1. Starter – What’s this?


2. Teacher displays 10 (toy) flashcards on the board.
3. Pupils look at the toys. Teacher takes out one item and asks, “What’s this?”

2. Pupils continues to recite the rest of the poem in unison.

4. Pupils recite the poem again and underline difficult words.
5. Teacher explains the difficult words and emphasises on the word endangered.
6. Teacher uses double bubble map to differentiate between endangered and
extinct animals including some instances for further understanding.
7. Teacher gets pupils to shares how do they feel after reciting the poem and state
at least a way they can do to help the endangered species/animals.
8. Next, teacher will say aloud few sentences and gets pupils to point at the
correct pictures that depicting the statement. (Textbook page 83)
9. Repeat Step 8 for Activity Book 5B page 8.
10. Later, teacher gets pupils into 5 groups and explain their task.
11. Pupils discuss the task and make a poster on what they can do to save
endangered animals from becoming extinct.
12. As closure, teacher gets a representative from each group to talk about the
poster to the class.

Long ago, there lived a Thai boy named Thinnakorn. One day, he was resting under a
tree. His pet elephant was bathing in the river. Suddenly, he heard a loud noise. He saw
a baby monkey in the river. It was crying for help. A crocodile was swimming towards the
monkey.
Teacher prompts pupils to guess what happened to the baby monkey in the end.
3. Activity 2
In pairs, pupils take turn to read aloud the story on their Activity Book 4B page 1.
Pupils read aloud the story in front of their classmates.
4. Closure
Teacher asks pupils to suggest the moral values that they have learnt from the two
stories that they have heard or read today.
