Cancellations_________ _________________
1. General __
The translator’s, Anne-Wil Claeys, terms and conditions
apply to all services. The client confirms being informed
and accepting the terms and conditions.
2. Tenders and Agreements________________________
2.1 All tenders and quotations on the part of the
translator are made without obligation. Tenders remain
valid for 30 calendar days after submission. All prices are
exclusive of VAT.
2.2 The translator is only legally bound to an assignment
after the order has been accepted and confirmed by the
translator. Agreements concerning additional work or
adjustments to be made during the execution of the
project requested by the client or advised by the
translator are not legally binding until after confirmation
by either party._________________________________
2.3 The price for translations is calculated by the amount
of source words in the delivered documents. Words are
automatically calculated in Microsoft Word.
2.4 The client delivers the typed source text, on paper or
in digital form._________________________________
3. Delivery terms and conditions
3.1 The delivery period that was agreed upon only starts
when the source text is received and after final
confirmation of the assignment.
3.2 The translator is bound only to the delivery period
agreed upon with the client. Delay in the execution of
accepted orders can never lead to termination of the
agreement. It can only lead to a discount on the invoice
amount or damages only if a notice of default of
execution was not replied to within two working days.
3.3 Our translations are always delivered by e-mail,
unless the client requests a different delivery method.
Any costs for mail or courier services are always paid by
the client. The translator cannot be held liable for
possible problems and/or delays due to errors
committed by the mail or courier service.
4. Translations__________________________________
4.1 The translator is required to perform the assignment
to the best of his professional knowledge.
4.2 All information provided by the client is treated as
strictly confidential.______________________________
4.3 The client will supply all the information needed for
the translation to the translator at its own expense.
4.4 Upon request and where possible, the client will
supply relevant information about the text to be
translated, and also documentation and terminology, if
available.

In case of unilateral cancellation of the assignment by
the client, a compensation will be owed that is equal to a
fee for the translation or revision work and the
terminology research already performed, according to
the rates agreed upon. In addition, The translator may
charge a fee for breach of contract equal to 20% of the
fee originally agreed upon.
6. Payment
6.1 The invoice amount must be paid via bank transfer
within 30 calendar days after the invoice date on the
account number attached to the invoice.
6.2 In case of non-payment of the amount due on the
expiration date, all the ongoing assignments of the client
shall be suspended. Every unpaid invoice shall be raised
by a flat-rate amount of 15% of the amount due. The
costs incurred of the unpaid amount shall be at the
charge of the client.
7. Liability
7.1. An assignment is always limited to the translation. In
case of translation, the translator is not obliged to
interpret or grammatically correct a flawed source text.
The translator is relieved of any liability if the text to be
translated is ambiguous.__________________________
7.2 In any event liability is limited to the amount
invoiced for the assignment. The translator can never be
held liable for consequential damages to the client or to
a third party.
7.3 The client shall indemnify the translator and hold
him harmless against claims from third parties arising
from alleged infringement of property rights, patents,
copyright or other intellectual property rights in
connection with performance of the contract.
7.4 The translator cannot be held liable for failing to
carry out the assignment in case of force
majeure.________________
