DELTA – Post Lesson Evaluation

Name of teacher: Katherine Wilson 010 Name of Observer: Claire Potter

Lesson: LSA 3 No of students: 10 Level: Elementary Date:03 /11/2005

Main Aim of lesson

Evaluation:
Strengths:
Activating the stds schemata by letting them discuss the differences in form worked well and also lowered
their affective filter which gave them more confidence to move on to the next stage.

The first worksheet was at the right level for this group and they were able to complete this successfully.

The second worksheet was more challenging thus utilising Krashan’s L+1 theory. Although some of the
language used was new, students were able to cope with it through individual explanations and monitoring.

The gist reading task worked well and gave them a good idea of the text before stds read for more specific
information.

Having stds look at the layout of an informal letter helped them focus on the layout and added to their
awareness of the importance of coherence.

Throughout the lesson the students seemed motivated and I feel that having them work in pairs assisted
with this.

Areas for improvement

Timing – I felt I lost time with feedback. This could have been solved by having the answers on the board or
an OHP.
