Each CLT Dolly Set system

lock bolts, the Dolly Set raises
the shelter to ride height in just
a few seconds with its on-board

tem. The system can be towed
at highway speeds up to 90 kph
(55 mph) or on rough terrain
at reduced speeds. When not
connected to a shelter, the dolly
set can be coupled together as
a 4-wheel trailer (in tandem if
desired) for transport by road,
rail, ship or air.

CLT Accessories
Side lift kit
While provided as a built-in standard compo-
nent on the 25-Ton CLT system, this capability
can be added to M1022-A1 and CLT Dolly Sets
as an optional kit. Each kit includes 4 new lift
and positioning cylinders to provide high lift
capabilities, along with all interconnecting
cross-bars, lifting chains and storage boxes to
permit side lifting of ISO Containers for loading
and unloading of other trucks, trailers or rail
cars. The Side Lift Kit provides true container
handling capabilities in the field when other
types of lifting equipment are not available.
C-130 Pallets
Specially designed low-profile pallets, installed
on the bottom of an ISO container to lock
them into the aircraft’s dual rail system, are
available to be used with 8.5 ft tall ISO contain-
ers to permit loading within the allowable C-
130 height restriction of xx in/xx cm. Matching
C-130 floor rollers are also available so that the
total height of the floor rollers and pallets is
3 in/7.6 cm). This compares to standard C-130
rollers and pallets which would have a total
combined height of xx in/xx cm. Use of pallets
eliminates the need for complicated container
tiedown procedures inside the crowded
aircraft cargo area.

application table provided,
these accessories and kits are
available as optional items on
selected models of the CLT. 
Redundant Power Kit
The redundant power kit provides the
necessary hydraulic connections and hose
assemblies to permit operation of one half of
the system from the other half. This capability
permits the emergency use of a dolly set or
CLT in the event of an engine or pump failure
on one half of the system.
Cold start kit
For temperatures down to -25 degrees F (-32
C), the M1022-A1 Dolly Set was started under
its own power and operated during US Army
cold chamber tests. The Cold Start Kit provides
the necessary connections for accurate and
safe battery jumping from a tow vehicle (12V
or 24V) for temperatures between -25 F (-32 C)
and -50F (-46 C). Each kit provides the neces-
sary junction box, mounting brackets, electri-
cal cables and fail-safe 12-24V readout for one
dolly set engine (2 required per system).

CLT Accessories
ABS Brakes
If specified, the CLT and CLT Dolly Set can be
supplied with Anti-Lock Braking Systems.
These systems, installed on each wheel, are
controlled by ABS computers and hardware
installed on each half part through air supplied
from the tow vehicle.
Non-Standard Container Adapters
Customized adapters can be provided to en-
sure compatibility of the CLT or Dolly Set with
a number of non-standard ISO container sizes
and types. Adapter kits are based on individual
customer needs and specifications.
S-280 Adapter Kit
The S-280 adapter kit enables the CLT and
M1022-A1 Dolly Sets to attach to and transport
standard military S-280 style shelters that are
not equipped with ISO corner castings. Each
kit includes adapters that are mounted to the
dolly set upper and lower beams to securely
attach to the transport rings on S-280 shelters.
Once attached, the hydraulic positioning
cylinders are utilized to apply tension against
the rings for a secure connection.
Special Tool Kits
Special hand tool kits can be provided with
each CLT or Dolly Set system if desired to
ensure that the correct size and type (English/
Metric) tools are present with each system for
routine operator maintenance on the system
in the field. Standard kits can be provided, or
special kits customized per user request.
Road or Rough Terrain Tires
The CLT system is provided with standard
road/off-road tires which are suitable for both
highway travel and operations in rough terrain.
If a customer desires to operate only in a very
soft environment, such as sand or mud, larger
high floatation tires can be provided. Such
tires are intended only for special operating

Preparation for C130 Kit
When the 25-Ton CLT system is intended to
be used with the hydraulically controlled
16-wheel C-130 Loading Kit, an additional CLT
upgrade is required to permit easy power take-
off from the CLT hydraulic system to power the
C-130 kit. A steering cylinder is fitted on the
CLT halfpart for easy steering of the CLT into
the C-130 aircraft. The kit is not applicable to
the CLT or M1022-A1 Dolly Set.
Complexing Dolly
The CLT Complexing Dolly is used in conjunc-
tion with the front half of a CLT or Dolly Set for
short range mobilization and to “complex” or
“close-couple” containers in tight areas. The
Complexing Dollies can be installed into the
side of the ISO corner castings so that the
container can be pushed flush up against a
wall or another container. The dollies can also
be installed onto the end face of containers if
desired and used to tightly position containers
next to each other. The dollies are man-por-
table and designed for quick installation.
Containers weighing up to 20,000 pounds
can be lifted with the manual hydraulic pump
on each unit, and the wheel assemblies can
rotate freely (castor) or can be locked in place.
While in the castor mode, each assembly can
also be manually steered with the steering bar
provided to assist with final positioning.
