WEEKLY
NARRATIVE
REPORT

1st WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

On the first day of being on the job trainee for Hayakawa

Electronics (Phils.) Corporation, I have been filled with excitement on

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
different things that I may learn and experience during my stay in this

company. The first day rhe company HR discussed to us the company

profile also the rules and regulations within the premises of the

company. Then after the orientation we are assigned to the FOD/JIG

DEPARTMENT wherein this department construct, build/assemble jigs

and boards which are needed for the production of different wire

harnesses produce by the company. We are oriented and freely

observed the office/department to familiarize ourselves to the workers

in the departments workspaces. The company have good ambience,

clean and workers are in proper uniform also on our department and

our bosses look nice from the supervisor down to the line leader. The

department section leader Sir Allan Parin welcomed us in care off the

supervisor and assistant supervisor which they are both in a company

meeting. The next few days our line leader Sir Adrian gave us order

and taught us on how to do a switching base, a device which they use

in order to check the sequence of wires in the insertion Jig also used

by the quality checker for the wire harnesses to be properly check and

avoid miswiring.

2nd WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
After a week we are still not yet finished making 50 pcs of

switching base,25 for me and 25 for Ryan. While doing the switching

base I have been more consistent in soldering components and then

tips on how to solder quickly without damaging the components and

to lessen the working time. Even though each worker have their own

working space/table they still have to borrow some materials to other

which sometimes take time. Also following last week report we have

done the company 6S where in Japanese its Keizen a process of

continuous Improvement within working area and inside the whole

company and Keizen are conducted every Friday of every week.

3rd WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
Our third week on the company, I have learned new things from

the crew and also from our supervisor and section leaders. Also I have

met in person the company president Mr. Takashi Kawano or also

called “Sir TK” he is so nice and approachable seems all Japanese are

all like that, as they give so much respect for other people as they

receive the respect given back to them. We have new instructions to

dismantle older jigs and boards that after dismantling it other parts

and components can be use again.

4th WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
On the 4th week, we have instructions to clean up all the scrap

materials, fiber glass, woods and other materials which are not needed

anymore. Also we have been taught by sir jun as they call him one of

the skilled worker inside the department which he repairs things used

outside the department/production area which the things he also build

by his own schematic diagram and his knowledge in different kinds of

troubleshooting powersupply, a marker with a sensor also called

checker, and sequential a device they have made that operates as a

counter for the finished wire harness and also a checker that is

connected to a computer which uses a camera sensor for double

checking wires to avoid miswiring and miscoloring it.

5th WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
In this week the instructions given to us is to help other workers

in their projects by helping them plotting in a board, plotting a

blueprint of their next project in a fly board in which the productions

staffs needed for faster mass production of wire harness and to replace

old boards. Then after that we are also intruct to help Rodel and Jesher

in their projects, the two of them are assigned in making different

casing of a jig, it may be a holder or other basic circuit repair that other

co workers cannot finished for the repairs of devices compile up. Also

we explore the whole production area with kuya Ericson the FOD/JIG

preventive maintenance and we became his assistant for a while to

help him check all the boards and jigs used in every section of the

production and we put a checking stab on the board and jig and have

a 3 month duration for the board to be check again.

6th WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
In this week we are assigned to help Rodel to make a power

supply which are requested by the production section that they needed

for the automated jigs that needed 5 volts power supply. In the process

we extended the wiring and add a resistor between them incase to

avoid power outrage that can damage the devices and that can cause

to start a fire. After completing the ordered power supply we started

to built cases for it yet the fiber glass are short to be finished so we

waited Jesher to finish cutting the fiber glass needed in their laser

cutting machine. Then we made some errands for our quality checker

Tyang Fely also for our assistant supervisor Sir Ryan Pabustan.

7th WEEK ON THE JOB TRAINEE

San Sebastian College – Recoletos de Cavite
On our last week in the company we are assigned to help our

fellow workers/staffs in their errands and also to help them repair

within the production area as their assistant for their jobs to finished

ahead of time because there are a lot of requested projects needed

for them to be finished and other projects that our supervisor needed

in presentation of the new device that can help the the production to

produce new sets of boards and for improvement of the wire

harnessses. Also during our last stay we are given a token of gift the

workers done for us, a fiber glass with our names engraved to it using

the laser cutting machine.
