Introduction of SSD-900 Ver. 5.0

We are pleased to introduce the latest version of SSD-900, which has the following
feature:

Cine Memory is incorporated as a standard function, which was not available in the
former versions. The specifications such as the number of storable images
slightly differ from those of SSD-1000 and SSD-1400.
As for details of the specifications, please refer to the attached papers.

Starting serial numbers of Ver. 5.0:

M03043 and higher

Upgrade kits:
Please refer to the attached papers for the details.

This newsletter is distributed to the districts where NTSC video system is used.
 Cine Memory (SSD-900 Ver. 5.0)

(1) Specifications:

Memory capacity
Cine Memory (Loop playback is possible.):
In single B mode display: 32 images
In dual B mode display: 32 images + 32 images each
Store Memory
Max. 6 screens (in all modes)
Scroll Memory (in M mode)
Max. 256 seconds

Note: When the Store memory is used, the Cine Memory capacity is reduced from 32
images to 24 images. This is because the same memory is shared for the two functions.

(2) Operation

The STORE and SEARCH functions are assigned to the switches between EXT and ABC
LEVEL switches. At present, the corresponding switches are blank. (Please refer to the
figure below.)

The REVIEW function is assigned to the menu. Select “Cine Memory” in the menu and
then select “Review” in the sub-menu.

 Upgrade kits (SSD-900 Ver. 5.0)

(1) Upgrade from Ver. 3.* and Ver. 4.* (serial number M02193 - M03046) to Ver. 5.0

Prepare the following 2 items:

1. P.C. board
EP484800BB

2. Software ROM ICs

PM-900-18

Note:
・ The EP484800BB replaces EP3966* that is incorporated in the original unit.
Some ROM ICs need to be transplanted from the EP3966* to the new P.C. board.
After the upgrade, the EP3966* is no longer necessary. Please discard it at your
side.

(2) Upgrade from Ver. 1.* and Ver. 2.* to Ver. 5.0

It is necessary to upgrade the unit to Ver. 3.0 by using PM-900-8 prior to the above
upgrade.

Therefore you need the following 3 items:
