the Language Learning Continuum, students demonstrate their understanding of cultural persp ectives by behaving in culturally

1. How does the film reflect Mexican/ Hispanic culture.

2. What are the traditional practices and their purpose.

3. How is day of the dead similar or different from celebrations like Halloween or other traditions.

Unit Summary:

Day of the Dead (Día de Los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated particularly in the south and central regions of Mexico. The
holiday consists of family and friends gathering to pray and remember their loved ones that have passed. This unit will not only
focus on the day of the dead holiday but, will also compare it to our experiences. We will compare and contrast similarities and
differences in this holiday and those of our own culture.
