Use
This documentation will give you an overview of the basic settings that are not made in Customizing for SAP
Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM), but which are prerequisites for the integration with an
enterprise resource planning system (ERP system).
Define logical systems in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Application Server > IDoc Interface /
Application Link Enabling (ALE) > Basic Settings > Logical Systems > Define Logical System.
Maintain distribution models in Customizing for SAP NetWeaver under Maintain Distribution Model.
Define RFC destinations on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools > Administration >
Administration > Network > RFC Destinations.
Maintain Application Link Enabling (ALE) port definitions on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools
> ALE > ALE Administration > Runtime Settings > Port Maintenance.
Maintain ALE partner profiles on the SAP Easy Access screen under Tools > ALE > ALE
Administration > Runtime Settings > Partner Profiles.
Set the queue type No Queue - IDoc Processing for your business systems in Customizing for
Extended Warehouse Management under Interfaces > ERP Integration > General Settings > Control
for RFC Queue.
Transportation Data
You can receive the following transportation data from the ERP system:
Corresponds technically to the LIKP-TRATY field, which is transferred to the interface to SAP EWM in
structure BAPIOBDLVHDR or BAPIIBDLVHDR, in field TRANS_CAT.
Corresponds technically to the LIKP-TRAID field, which is transferred to the interface to SAP EWM in
structure BAPIOBDLVHDR or BAPIIBDLVHDR, in field TRANSP_ID.
If you receive this transportation data from an ERP system, you must do the following in Customizing for SCM
Basis:
Maintain means of transport
Using the means of transport type from the ERP system, the system determines the means of
transport that you define here:
Master Data -> Transportation Lane -> Maintain Means of Transport
Make sure that the key, which you enter in the S.Code field (Standard Code Means of Transport),
matches the keys that you define here in the ERP system: Logistics Execution > Shipping > Packing >
Define Packaging Material Types.
The means of transport this determined is stored in the SAP EWM delivery documents in the Means of
Transport field (technically this corresponds to the /SCDL/DL_TRANSPORT_STR-
TRANSMEANS_TYPE field).
Using the means of transport, the system determines the transportation mode. You can assign a
means of transport category to the transportation mode:
Master Data > Transportation Lane > Maintain Transportation Mode
The transportation mode is stored in the SAP EWM delivery documents in the Mode of Transport field
(technically this corresponds to the /SCDL/DL_TRANSPORT_STR-/SCWM/TRMODE field).
The means of transport category is derived from the transportation mode. This is then stored in the
SAP EWM delivery documents in the Means of Transport Category field (technically this corresponds
to the /SCDL/DL_TRANSPORT_STR-TRANSMEANS_CODE field).
Incoterms
If you receive deliveries with entries for Incoterms from the ERP system, you must perform the following in
Customizing for SAP EWM:
Extended Warehouse Management > Cross-Process Settings > Delivery Processing > Define
Incoterms
Use the same key that you defined in the ERP system: Sales and Distribution > Master Data >
Business Partner > Customers > Billing Document > Define Incoterms
Delivery Priority
If you receive deliveries with entries for a delivery priority from the ERP system, you must perform the following
in Customizing for SAP EWM:
Extended Warehouse Management > Cross-Process Settings > Delivery Processing > Define Delivery
Priority
Use the same key that you defined in the ERP system: Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basics >
Partners > Master Data > Define Delivery Priorities
Shipping Conditions
If you receive deliveries with entries for shipping conditions from the ERP system, you must perform the
following in Customizing for SAP EWM:
Extended Warehouse Management > Cross-Process Settings > Delivery Processing > Define
Shipping Conditions
Use the same key that you defined in the ERP system: Logistics Execution > Shipping > Basic
Shipping Functions > Shipping Point and Goods Receiving Point Determination > Define Shipping
Conditions
Batches
You can integrate SCM EWM to an SAP ERP system with batches at material level or at plant level.
Configure settings in SAP ERP in Customizing for Integration with Other SAP Components under
Extended Warehouse Management > Basic Settings for Data Transfer > Implementation: CIF Transfer
of Batches at Plant Level to SAP EWM.
In SCM EWM, batch attributes are mapped as characteristic value assignments for the batch class. If you plan
to use batch attributes in SCM EWM, you must assign a suitable batch class to batches at material level (class
type 023) or plant level (class type 022) in the SAP ERP product master. The classification data must be
considered in an integration model.
In your batch class, maintain at least one characteristic and specify an organizational area for the class and
characteristic. To transfer classification data, use an integration model for classes and characteristics that
contains no other objects. Also select your organizational area and class type 023 or 022 as the organizational
area indicator.
