Logical Channels Supported by Huawei

Logical channels carry data from the MAC to the RLC. The RLC maps the RBs from the
upper layer onto appropriate logical channels. The MAC maps logical channels onto
transport channels.
The type of each logical channel is defined according to the type of information that is
transferred. Generally, logical channels are classified into the following types:
 Control channel (for the transfer of control plane information)
 Traffic channel (for the transfer of user plane information)

Transport Channels Supported by Huawei

Generally, transport channels are categorized into the following types:
 Common transport channel (where the UE is addressed by the ID carried in the
transport block)
 Dedicated transport channel (where the UE is identified by the physical channel, for
example, channelization code and frequency)

System Information Broadcasting

This section describes WRFD-010401 System Information Broadcasting.
Based on the system information, the network can provide UEs with rich access layer
and non access layer information required for running UEs on the network, and the
information that controls UE behavior.
System information is broadcast through system information blocks (SIBs) on the
broadcast control channel (BCCH).
The system information is organized in a tree-type manner. A master information block
(MIB) gives references and scheduling information to a number of SIBs in a cell. The
SIBs contain the actual system information.

Scheduling of SIBs is performed by the RRC layer in UTRAN. RRC can automatically
calculate the repetition period and position of each SIB segment based on its importance.
