Objectives

Our primary objective in this trio is to learn about scuba diving. How ever, on this trip we are not
just looking for theory for knowledge but instead to have individual experience in becoming a
certified SDI diver. What we really appreciate is the opportunity for us to work as a team aside from
experiencing the real world of marine life.

Description of Activities

BAYU DIVE CENTER is located in front of Gentling Bayu Chalet at Kampung Genting. It is about
10 minute walk (600 meters) from the Kampung Genting Jetty. We offer a wide range of
recreational adventure diving services from the novice diver, even children aged 10 and above to
the experienced diver on a wide variety of dive sites in awesome Tioman Island.Pulau Tioman is
located about 200 km east of the Pahang state in Malaysia. This islands in many ways is very
different which this island is more with big marine animals, schooling fish and interesting reef
formations. The reefs of Tioman are reasonably colorful and diverse, and we saw a lot of very large
sea fans and some huge stands of lettuce coral. Given the amount of divers in the water (it is a very
popular dive destination), and some of the very poor diving practices we witnessed, it was amazing
to me that many of the fans and large corals did not yet have signs of diver damage. Pilot reef dive
was very cool too. On this dive we happen to feel the water current under the ocean flowing
through. This location is so called ‘Pilot Reef’ as the pilot on the plane up above used the visible
reef formation to navigate. We had an extra time after we got off the last dive on the last day, before
road trip back to home, and so we follow local guide to take us on a cultural tour of jungle tracking.
It was very interesting and enlightening to learn about the people and their history. As a popular
divers’ destination, Tioman is well set up with hotels, restaurants, and numerous dive operations.
Several live aboard companies also have boats in the area. Our combination of a few days of land-
based diving and tours, and a week on a dedicated dive live aboard, was ideal. Tentatives of this

Summary of Information Obtained

From the trip, we can say that Bayu Dive Centre is a young and vibrant dive centre that is devoted
to provide new diver with a diversity of scuba experiences and in favour of their team, we can
wonders off the underwater world in such a magnificent range. One of the things that we learnt is to
appreciate the nature. There are so many things in nature that we can discover such as marine life
that we found during scuba. We learn how to scuba, know the equipment and their functions. We
also learn to work in group which were defined as “teamwork” during our scuba. We learn how to
watch other member’s back and helping each other. We learn how to enjoy our life with beneficial
activities. From all the outcomes, we hope that this will build our character and personality to
become a better person and a good diver in the future.
