Dear University Admissions, It is with great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for "student". I have known "student" for the last two years as her school counselor. During that time, I have come to know her as dynamic, articulate, and genuine. "Student" is easiestly our most involved and one of our highest academically performing seniors on our campus. As Community Service Club President, Model United Nations President, Yearbook President/Editor and Athletic Council Representative, which is an elected position, she is managing multiple year-long projects that require high-levels of organization, excellent communication skills, and a lot of patience. Aside from Yearbook Editor, which is a major time commitment that will require over 100 hours of her time at the end of year, she is one of 12 students on our Global Issues Network Conference planning team. This team is assigned to manage, organize, and coordinate all the aspects of hosting a multi-school conference in a span of only 18 weeks. Academically, "student" is also often found towards the top of her class. With the most academically rigorous schedule in her cohort, it is impressive that her grade point average is always amongst the highest. As a junior, she challenged herself to take Calculus AB/BC concurrently. "student" has also sought out additional opportunities to expand her knowledge. Whether it was her taking both Spanish and French to learn additional languages after already being fluent in 3 languages, participating in summer enrichment programs over multiple summers or locating internship opportunities. Her passion for learning and helping others have won her a slew of recognitions including our school’s award for Global Citizen and was the 2015-2016 EARCOS, Margaret Sanders Scholarship nominee from our school. Unfortunately, "student" is currently struggling to have her standardized test scores to match her academic profile. This is something she is striving to overcome as she works diligently to improve her scores. "student" is constantly challenging herself to achieve her personal best. "Student" is not to be underestimated. She is a student whose leadership and ambition is so intuitive for her. When we surveyed her cohort last year about peer role models, over a 25% of her class identified her. The next highest person identified in her grade was just over 5%. That is how significantly she has impacted her grade-level. Last year, I remember having a conversation with her about what clubs she is involved in and encouraging her to seek out positions of additional responsibility. Unlike many students who seek leadership in whatever club they are involved in, she seeks to identify leadership roles that will help her grow and those that she is best qualified for. "Student"’s leadership and presence will be greatly missed on our campus, but I am confident that she will go on to do great things at your institution. I could go on and on about "student" and her strengths, but unfortunately my space is limited. Please contact me at hhendrickx@ais.edu.hk should you have any questions regarding her application. It is with my highest recommendation that I recommend "student" for your institution! Sincerely,
