RINGKASAN

Proses pengecilan ukuran butir batubara di PT Muara Alam Sejahtera menggunakan

rangkaian unit crushing plant dimulai dari masuknya umpan dengan ukuran
boulder ±500 mm ke hopper yang akan diterima belt conveyor 1 sebagai belt feeder
dan diteruskan menuju belt conveyor 2, selanjutnya dari belt conveyor 2 diteruskan
menuju primary crusher (double roll crusher), dari primary crusher langsung
dilanjutkan proses secondary crusher (double roll crusher) secara continue dan
keluar sebagai produk yang berukuran 50 mm. Hasil dari secondary crusher
diangkut menggunakan belt conveyor 3 ke stockpile dan siap dijual ke konsumen.
Proses dari umpan masuk ke hooper dan keluar menjadi produk, produksi yang
dihasilkan oleh unit coal crushing plant 3 sering berkurang akibat terjadi
coal losses.
Ketetapan dari PT Muara Alam Sejahtera produksi crusher dinyatakan baik dengan
losses ≤ 2%. Coal losses pada rangkaian unit crushing plant 3 adalah sebesar
3.001,63 ton/bulan (2,10%) dari jumlah umpan yang masuk, artinya telah melebihi
batas toleransi perusahaan. Coal losses pada rangkaian unit coal crushing plant 3
disebabkan oleh beberapa titik yaitu, pada hopper disebabkan oleh ukuran umpan
yang masuk melebihi ukuran grizzly dan penumpahan umpan dengan direct
dumping yang kurang diawasi oleh dump man, pada belt conveyor 2 disebabkan
oleh terbukanya ban skirt boards pada sisi awal belt, pada belt conveyor 3
disebabkan karena belt conveyor dan roller pada posisi material jatuh tidak
bersentuhan.
Perbaikan yang dilakukan untuk mengurangi coal losses yaitu, pada hopper
melakukan pengontrolan ukuran umpan yang akan masuk ke hopper tidak melebihi
500 mm dan memperketat pengawasan pada saat proses penumpahan di hopper,
pada belt conveyor 2 menutup sisi belt skirt boards yang terbuka dengan karet
penyekat dengan panjang 3 meter dan tinggi 0,10 meter, dan pada belt conveyor 3
mengatur posisi roller agar roller dan belt conveyor bersentuhan sehingga kondisi
belt pada saat berjalan sesuai dengan jalur. Hasil dari proses perbaikan yang
dilakukan coal losses mengalami penurunan dari 9,21 ton/jam menjadi
3,43 ton/jam. Penurunan jumlah coal losses pada produksi perbulan juga terjadi

yang awalnya 3.001,63 ton atau 2,10% menjadi 1.124,28 ton atau 0,78%, sehingga
coal losses pada rangkaian unit coal crushing plant telah memenuhi kriteria coal
losses perusahaan yaitu ≤ 2%.

SUMMARY

Size reducing process at PT Muara Alam Sejahtera using a crushing plant unit start
from the feed entering the hopper at ± 500mm will then received by belt conveyor
1 as belt feeder and then continue to belt conveyor 2. After that then goes to primary
crusher (double roll crusher) and then goes to secondary crusher (double roll
crusher) with continuity and the outputs are around 50 mm. The result goes to belt
conveyor 3 and stock to be sold to the consumer. The amount of feeds are reducing
due to coal losses.
The determination of PT Muara Alam Sejahtera crusher production is declared good
with losses ≤ 2%. Coal losses in the crushing plant unit 3 are 3,001.63 ton/month
(2.10%) of the incoming feed amount, which means that it has exceeded the
company's tolerance limit. Losses from the coal crushing palnt caused by some spot
that is, at hopper caused by the size of the feed is larger than the size of grizzly and
the direct dumping method is not supervised enough by the dump man, at belt
conveyou 2 caused by the opening of skirt boards wheel at the first belt, at belt
conveyor 3 cause by the position of belt conveyor and roller is not touching eah
other on falling material position.
The attempt to reduce the coal losses are, at hopper, controling the size of the feed
entering the hopper not larger than 500 mm and intensing the supervision, at belt
conveyor 2, closing the skirt boards side belt with a rubber with 3 meter width and
0.10 meter height, and at belt conveyor 3, adjusting roller position so the roller and
belt conveyor touching each other and the belt move on the line. After the process
of repair of coal losses decreased from 9.21 ton/hour to 3.43 ton/hour. The amount
of coal losses reduction are from 3,001.63 ton or 2.10% to 1,124.28 ton or 0.78%.
So the coal losesse at coal crushing plant units are at below 2%.
