LOW CURRENT INSTALLATION.

1.0 PURPOSE

The purpose of this procedure is to describe the method for installation &
testing of Low Current System.

2.0 SCOPE

This procedure shall be applicable to all low Current Systems viz. Fire
Alarm, Intercom, security, MATV, SMATV, P.A., systems etc., for small to
medium size installation undertaken by the Company.

4.0 DEFINITIONS

4.1 Company XYZ.

4.2 Quality Engineer Nominated Quality Engineer at Site.

4.3 Discipline Engineer Company designated Electrical Engineer as

decided by the Management and assigned with
the responsibility of managing electrical part of
the Project.

4.4 MATV Master Antenna Television system.

4.5 SMATV Satellite -do-.

4.6 PA Public Address system.

5.0 PROCEDURE

TITLE: LOW CURRENT INSTALLATION.

5.1.1 The responsibility for carrying out this Method Statement shall be that of
the Discipline Engineer/ Foremen, unless otherwise specifically mentioned
in this procedure. The Quality Engineer/ Discipline Engineer/ Foremen
shall be responsible for inspection & testing.

5.1.2 In case of conflicting requirements with the Manufacturer’s instructions or

Customer specifications for installation & testing, then such requirements
shall prevail in addition to the non-conflicting requirements of this
procedure.

5.2 Preparation

5.2.1 The type, model, rating etc., of the system and cable required shall be
ascertained / identified from the applicable specifications / drawings.

5.2.2 All equipment, Panels, devices, cable etc., shall be inspected to ensure
that they are free from damages.

5.2.3 The packing list shall be verified against the items for completeness of
supply.

5.3 Cable Installation

All cables shall be laid in accordance to the Method Statement for Cable
Installation & Testing M & E QC~Form- 001/ REV. 0.

5.4 Panel Installation

5.4.1 The Recessed / Surface back boxes of Panel shall be checked for
compliance of locations, size and type. Any variation shall be rectified
prior to installation. The equipment / devices to be installed and fixed /
grouted on the wall in conformance with the applicable drawings.

5.4.2 The incoming & outgoing cable shall be terminated as per the applicable
drawings and as per the Method Statement for Cable Installation & Testing
M & E QC~Form- 001/ REV. 0.

5.5 Devices Installation

5.5.1 For Devices installation, the details of location & mounting shall be
verified
with the drawings. The devices shall located so that they are accessable.

5.5.2 For False ceiling installation, the devices dimension shall be verified as per
the applicable drawings for purpose of location & coordination with other
services.

5.5.3 For Surface mounted installation, devices shall be placed as per the
drawings at the required level as per the drawing.

5.5.4 Prior to final termination, it shall be ensured that the lead wires are
terminated as per the approved drawings.

5.5.5 In case of interfacing of various devices with other services proper polarity
shall be observed all as per wiring diagram of manufacturer.

5.6 Junction Box Installation

5.6.1 Juntion boxes for the installation shall be installed at definate interval as
shown in drawings for facilitating pulling of wires.

5.6.2 Where the juntion boxes are meant for installing the accessories type,
model and rating of the junction box shall be identified / verified from the
applicable electrical drawings / specification.

5.6.3 The installation of the junction box shall be done as per the standard
drawings.

5.7 Final Installation

Final installation check shall be carried out as per the formats for Low
Current Installation procedure laid down by manufacturer & Low Current
Installation Check M & E QC~Form- 009-01/ REV. 0 and the results
recorded.

5.8 Acceptance

On completion of the checks / tests, the applicable test records shall be

signed off by Supplier representative or the Discipline Supervisor / Test
Engineer. If contractually required, the Customer Representative’s
signature shall be obtained.

6.0 DOCUMENTATION / RECORDS

6.1 Low current installation Check M & E QC~Form- 009-01/ REV. 0.

6.2 Testing & commissioning Certificate M & E QC~Form- 009-02/ REV. 0.
by Manufacturer.
6.3 Cable Installation Check Sheet M & E QC~Form- 001-01/ REV. 0.
6.4 Cable Trench Record M & E QC~Form- 001-02/ REV. 0.
