Setting

• Places:

Washington the place of the president and the other people included in the movie,

Somewhere in California, Yellowstone Park –where Jackson and his children went to

camp, Las Vegas – where Jackson, Kate, Gorgon and Jackson’s children landed and

China – the place where Jackson go because that is the place where the submarines that

government use to survive.

• Time:

First at 2009 where there was a warning about happenings on the Sun, and the President

Informed here, by a geologist named Adrian.

2010 – The president informed the world about the end of the world, at first when he was

informed by Adrian, he didn’t believe him.

2012 – The earth started to destroy.

• Weather:

Sunny, Ashy – because of the eruption of volcanoes and bit darkness.

Plot
 It all started on 2009, with a man, whose a black American dude named Adrian, a

smart geologist. He was invited by his friend named Satnam. His friend had this mine

studying of what’s happening in the earth’s core. In space, there was a solar flare which

was so strong it affected the earth’s core. Which has interrupted the earth’s gravitational

pull as well as it’s rotation. As soon as Adrian found out about this, he went straight to

Carl Anheuser, the President's Chief of Staff. Adrian had not slept in two days. At first,

Carl Anheuser, the President's Chief of Staff doesn’t want to listen to him, telling him to

tell it to his secretary. Adrian then told him it was urgent that he reads the document and

said it out loud. As soon the Carl Anheuser, the President's Chief of Staff reads it, he

asks who’s he’s boss. And then told him “as of now you will report directly to me”. And

then told him to be ready because soon they will meet the President.

So Adrian was ready to meet the President Thomas Wilson with Carl Anheuser. At first

the President didn’t believe, because it was too horrible to imagine, hoping that it won’t

happen.

Somewhere in California, there was a family who is going out. A man named

Jackson Curtis with his children. They went to Yellowstone Park to go camping; Jackson

wanted to show his kids a place where he always went when he was a teenager with their

mom. They notice a warning sign saying no trespassing, but they still went over the fence

to go through. Jackson wanted to show them a beautiful lake, but the problem is it was

gone. They had no idea what has happened how come the lake disappeared. There was a

man named Charlie who’s a person that broadcasts on the radio telling people all sorts of
stuff of what’s happening. Charlie was spying on them. As soon as Jackson and his

children went to the red zone all of a sudden the military showed up and was running

towards them. They took them and went to their military base. That’s when he met

Adrian, who was a great fan of his book. Lucky for him, Adrian told the troops to take

good care of them and escort them to safety. As soon as the troops left, the Charlie that

spied on them were asking questions to him and his family. About what happened when

the troops took them, what they told him? Then they went their separate ways. So

Jackson and his family continued on their camping trip, this time on a different site.

Close by, there was this vehicle, a man was there broadcasting on the radio. Jackson

went there and had a little talk; this Charlie was telling Jackson what was really

happening. At first Jackson didn’t believe a word he was saying. The Charlie had this

map showing them where’s the safe place to be when the crisis will start. It was given to

him by a listener who was a scientist and this scientist got killed by a government

because he knows all of the plans of government. Then Jackson went back to the

camping site where his kids were.

After a while, it had a bunch of earthquakes that’s happening. Earthquakes is so

strong, it cuts the building in half. Then Jackson’s son had a call from his mother, Kate

telling to go home now. So they went home, soon they were together in their house. And

Jackson had to leave for his work. He had to pick-up his boss’ children and drops them

off at the airport. Those children named Alec and Oleg were spoiled brats, so Jackson

hated them a bit and called them names. Alec and Oleg were a bit pissed off at Jackson

because he was late, and they mentioned to him that we would live and you would die.
That’s when Jackson started to realize something is wrong, so he hired this pilot and told

him to wait for him. So Jackson rushed to his ex-wife and his children, he called his ex-

wife to start packing and they had to leave but Kate won’t listen. So she hangs the phone.

Then there was another earthquake so strong it would destroy the house along with them.

Luckily Jackson made it in time and pulled all of them out of the house to he’s car. So he

drove as fast as he can, they all notice of what’s happening around them. Ground is

cracking; houses around them were all in ruin. The bridge collapsed, tall building drop

down to the ground along with all the people. They almost didn’t make it out of there

alive. As soon as they arrived at the plane, they notice the pilot was dead. Good thing

his ex-wife’s boyfriend named Gordon knows how to pilot a plane. So they went flying

to the air, evading all the buildings that are falling down at them. They were all terrified,

but they made through it all. So they went again at Yellowstone Park to go to Charlie

who has a map telling them where to go at the same time they put some gas in the plane.

So Jackson with his son was searching for Charlie and soon met him up the hill, Jackson

asks for the map, so Charlie told him it was in his vehicle. So Jackson asks the man to

come with them. Yet Charlie stayed to see what will happen, and he wanted to broadcast

everything on the radio of what’s happening around him. Jackson went to the vehicle and

drove it back to where the plane is at, then he put their kid in the plane, then Jackson ran

back to the vehicle to find the map. Then there was another earthquake, suddenly it

created a huge hole, slowly the vehicle is going to fall. When the vehicle went down,

Jackson ex-wife thought he was a goner, but they waited for him a little longer. Then

Kate saw Jackson’s hand, he was climbing up, along with the map in his possession.

Then Jackson ran to the plain and got in. So they knew what to do now, they know
exactly where to go. But there’s another problem, they need a bigger plane. So they

planned out where to go next. Soon they landed in Las Vegas where big planes are.

There they met Yuri, his boss, and the Yuri’s pilot named Shasa had a problem, he needs

a partner in order to fly the plane. Good thing Jackson ex-wife has a boyfriend that

knows a bit about flying. So they hurried to the plane, and went to China.

Back at home, Thomas Wilson, the President of the United States, ordered

everyone to leave to go to the safe place. But he stayed for the people of America, that’s

when the President told the people of what’s really happening. So the people had a

chance to say farewell to each other and telling their loved one’s how much they love

them. The President’s daughter named Laura Wilson had no idea that her father wasn’t

coming, as soon as she finds out, she cried. Adrian was also there to comfort her.

Watching all those people who died was really sad. Soon the President died and all the

people that were there in land died because of the tsunami.

Now, Jackson and he’s family made it in China but they don’t have enough fuel to

make it to the safe place. So they had to do an emergency landing on the snow. While

the plane was landing, they had all kinds of cars inside the plane, so Shasa, the pilot

opens the hatch in order for them to drive out. They all made it, except to Shasa.
 The family and the Jackson’s boss notice there were helicopters flying by so they

called them. One of those choppers noticed them, so they landed near them. They were

Chinese Troops, the Jackson’s boss paid them big money to ride with them, but it was

only Yuri and he’s two children that came along. So the Yuri’s girlfriend named Tamara

was left behind, so she stayed with Jackson that was working with Yuri. So they walked,

and walked until they saw a vehicle driving close by. They yelled at them in order for

them to ride with them. They all went to the safe place. That safe place has 6 huge ships

called arks. That’s where their headed. As soon as they made it there, they went straight

inside the ship, but they made a mistake along the way. They jammed the machine that

closes the hatch of the ship. If the hatch can’t close they can’t start the engine. It

jammed as soon as they opened the hatch to let people in. First they weren’t going to let

anyone in because they running out of time. But Adrian convinced them that what they

are doing is wrong. Where’s the humanity if we’re going to leave them to die. Even they

running out of time they can still let some of the people to enter the ship. So as soon as

the hatch has opened they all went in. Then they close the hatch, but it wouldn’t close

because it’s jammed. So Adrian found out that there were people who went inside by

going through the back of the ship. He then recognized them, so he told Jackson that

something is jamming the machine to close the hatch. They had little time because the

tsunami is going to hit them, and it did. Soon the ship was released from its lock, without

the engine they will crash into the mountain. Jackson and his son tried their best to fix

the problem. They fixed it in a nick of time. So the hatch closed and the engine started,

they went full blast in backing up in order for them not to hit the mountain. A minute

later they would have crashed. So all of them rejoiced!

Point of view

Is about the upcoming end of the world where there lots of disaster happened that killed

billions of people. It started in solar flare happened on the sun that affects the earth’s

core, increasing the temperature rapidly. Earthquakes, Tsunami and Volcano Eruptions

destroyed lots of places in the world.

Here, the writers showed the main characters they made, the efforts of the characters did

just to help people, they showed how they make ways just on how did they help people in

the world to enter the ship. Especially the geologist named Adrian that has a golden heart

that forcedly convinced the other Superiors in the ship to let those people enter the ship.

They showed here also the inequality, like what happened in the movie. Government

Superiors hid the tragedy that soon to come, they did not even inform the people of the

world except the leaders but, they did also when it is too late and a lot of places have

been destroyed and many people died. In my point of view only those higher rank who

knows the truth and what they did is they enacted their selfishness that people should

know about the tragedy and has right to live also.

Even the negligent of Superiors when it’s just a warning and still have not happened the

tragedy.
Also the people’s faith in God. Hoping that God won’t forsake them and hoping that

when they die they will go to heaven.

For me writers want to show us that this tragedy is possible to happen and to become

alert before this tragedy happened. It is possible too that this will happen in 2012.

Theme

It’s about the prediction of Nostro Damas who is very popular when it comes in

prophecy. This was his last prediction and most of his predictions had happened.

According to the experts his last prediction will happen in 2012. The author of this movie

portrayed this 2012 event by his idea where it first started in solar flare that happened on

the sun and affects the earth that caused earth’s core temperature increases rapidly.

Disasters happen in the earth like, earthquake, tsunami, and volcano eruptions that killed

billions of people but some were lived because they make it into the ship called arks.

Conflict

Man vs. Circumstances

Circumstances because things that happened are not in man’s will and it’s about natural

disaster, at first it happens in solar flare that happened on the sun then it affects the

earth’s core and made things get wrong. Billions of people died.
Man vs. Man

Leaders hid the upcoming tragedy to the people of the world. One of the scientists got

killed because he opens his mouth about the tragedy.

Also the some of the Superior wants not to allowed the people outside the ship to come in

because their running out of time and when they did that all of them would die.

For me there is no Antagonist in the movie if has because of the urge to live that is why I

can’t blame some of the characters in this movie who became rude.
