CALL FOR SCORES
The Yogyakarta Contemporary Music Festival is an international contemporary music festival held in
Yogyakarta, Indonesia every year since 2004. This festival is an extraordinary opportunity for
composers, performers, musicologists, and scholars from Asia and other parts of the world to meet,
exchange ideas and inspire each other. The compositions presented at the festival are related or
influenced by Asian music, broadly defined.
YCMF 2010 is seeking scores and musical works that fulfill the following conditions:
1. Duration cannot be more than 10 minutes.
2. Formation must be SOLO, DUO or TRIO.
3. The following instruments can be used as solo instruments or in combination:
a. Strings: violin, viola, violoncello, double bass
b. Wood winds: piccolo, flute, alto flute, oboe, clarinet in Bb, bass clarinet, bassoon.
c. Brass: horn in F, trumpet in Bb, trombone.
d. Percussion: Marimba, xylophone, vibraphone.
e. Piano, guitar.
f. Vocals: Soprano.
g.Javanese & Chinese instruments: Gender, rebab, siter, saron, vocals, kendang, suling, erhu.
Scores and instrumental parts have to be written in Sibelius, and formatted in PDF. They should be
mailed to: ycmf@live.com along with a short bio, a photograph, and program notes.
Electro-Acoustic Music
Duration has to be not more than 10 minutes. The work must be for sound only or for sound and
video. In both cases, the work should be a composition without live performance. The video work
should be submitted on DVD that is playable on a PC.
