! Danger!
Special care is necessary in this case. The warning triangle warns the
user about potential danger of injury.
Failure to comply with the warning could result in injury to the user.
hss
! Important!
This symbol calls attention to a situation that could result in incorrect
measurements, disruptions in the measurement process, collisions or
damage to the equipment and the workpiece.
1 AIMS interface
.................................................................................................................................
CALYPSO can import CAD geometry data, measurement plans and
measuring results generated in AIMS and use them to create CAD
models and measurement plans.
The AIMS import is an option of CALYPSO. You can license this func-
tionality and have it enabled in your system if it is of use to you. Con-
tact your ZEISS Service for more information.
The sections included in this chapter explain the basics of importing
AIMS data and step you through the procedures involved.
What is AIMS?
AIMS stands for Advanced Integrated Mathematical System. AIMS is
a program package providing for the common use of CAD geometry
data, measurement plans and measuring results by different software
and hardware platforms.
NOTE A list generated by AIMS is processed during the import. The last item
hss
of this list usually is the transfer of pure geometry data. As CALYPSO
has already extracted this data from the other data and constructed
the CAD model, the Skip last operation check box is ticked by
default. This will save you transfer time.
4 If the last item of the transfer list contains relevant information for
CALYPSO, deactivate the Skip last operation check box.
! Important
During import to CALYPSO, the AIMS measurement plans are provi-
ded with strategies and technologies from CALYPSO. The AIMS tech-
nologies cannot be transferred to CALYPSO .
NOTE By selecting the strategy, you define at the same time the CALYPSO
hss
Strategy defaults applying to all measurement plans. For all non-acti-
vated feature types, the existing CALYPSO strategy defaults will be
used.
NOTE This is important, as CALYPSO links the results to the name of the
hss
workpiece and AIMS would refuse to overwrite an already existing file
when a new measurement is performed.
[Fieldnames]
REM By convention the userfieldnames begin with “u_“
u_field_pieceName
u_field_partDashNumber
u_field_deviceID
u_field_deviceName
u_field_software; Now defining the first userfield named u_field_pieceName
[u_field_pieceName]
name=pieceName ; the text which is shown as the name for the inputfield/list
editMode=true; this field shall be edited while editing the inspection
; Menu Prepare – Protocol Header Parameters
runMode=true; this field shall not be edited before starting CNC
selectiveList=false; it is a list – either a drop down list or a combo box
; profile named “u_field1_valueList“
editable=true; there’s keyboard input possible for the user – it is a combo box (no drop down list)
defaultValue=piece1; the default value to be shown is the value with the optionname “1“
REM Now defining the second userfield named u_field_partDashNumber
[u_field_partDashNumber]
name=partDashNumber
editMode=true; this field shall not be edited while editing the inspection
runMode=true; this field shall be edited before starting CNC
selectiveList=false; it is not a list, so it must be an input field
editable=true
defaultValue=-2001; this value is shown as long as no other input has been made for this field
[u_field_deviceID]
name=deviceID
editMode=true
runMode=true
selectiveList=false
editable=true
defaultValue=8675309
[u_field_deviceName]
name=deviceName
editMode=true
runMode=true
selectiveList=false
editable=true
defaultValue=MyDevice
[u_field_software]
name=software
editMode=true
runMode=true
selectiveList=false
editable=true
defaultValue=Calypso
NOTE For each export, enter a new name for pieceName. Otherwise it will
hss
not be possible to export the data to AIMS.
