Course Goals/Objectives

• To lay the foundation of a thorough understanding of the basic mechanics and


performance of reinforced structure as developed by modern research.
• To develop proficiency in the methods used in current design practice.

Course Description
Introduction and behavior or concrete and ms steel, Behavior of reinforced concrete,
Introduction to working stress design (WSD) method and Ultimate strength design (USD)
method of reinforced concrete member, Flexural analysis and design of singly, double, T-beam
by WSD and USD method, Shear in beams, Bond, Anchorage and Development length, One
way design of Slab.
