Nuvera 314 EA Perfecting Production System and Nuvera157 EA Production System with print speed of 314 pages per

minute (ppm)Note1 and 157

ppmNote1 respectively.

By adopting the Emulsion Aggregation (EA) toner with an established reputation, the new systems realize offset-level monochrome print quality
through a matte finish with controlled-gloss. In addition, the systems link with FreeFlow Digital Workflow Collection, Fuji Xerox's software that
enables users to enhance, automate and simplify the workflow.

As monochrome digital printing is used for a broad range of purposes from short-run and on-demand print as well as large-volume output
including corporate reports, invoices, manuals, educational materials and booklets, high-level productivity and stable operations are indispensable
for the systems.

The new Brenva press is the first in a series of planned Xerox cut-sheet production inkjet presses that combine the low running costs of
inkjet with the substrate versatility, quality, and small footprint of cut sheet. With a suggested list price of $649,000 USD for the base
configuration, entering the inkjet market or adding redundancy is now a more realistic option for many providers.

According to InfoTrends, production color inkjet print will account for 57 percent of the total production digital color page
volume by 20191.

Filling an unmet market need

Brenva targets the so-called “Zone of Disruption,” the largely un-served space that sits between high-volume cut-sheet xerographic
presses and low-end inkjet presses.

Built on a foundation of proven technologies

Brenva may feature a familiar looking package – using the same frame as our flagship cut-sheet iGen family – and is built using many
best-in-breed Xerox components,

Incorporated from trusted technologies includes the production stacker from the Nuvera familyand many of the same paper-handling
systems that have helped deliver the iGen’s leadership reliability and press availability for more than a decade. And much like the iGen,
Brenva offers best-in-class automation and optimal productivity with features such as an inline spectrophotometer to assist with
calibration and automated profiling.

Inside the press is a newly designed print engine built with the latest inkjet componentry by the Xerox—and former Impika—engineering
team in Aubagne, France to provide closed-loop controls and run-time corrections throughout the print run. Among its advanced
capabilities:

 Kyocera print heads, capable of high-speed printing at a maximum of over 100 million drops per second.
 Object-oriented color management to distinguish text, graphics, and images and optimize each accordingly for image
quality and ink drop size, to better control ink costs.
 K-only mode for cost effective monochrome printing, making it the first press offering leadership price points for both
business color and black-and-white applications.
The versatility of cut sheet
With that in mind, Brenva provides as many as eight paper stock pick points, accommodating for as many as 20,000 sheets of plain-
paper and inkjet treated stocks with weights ranging from 60 to 220 gsm and sizes up to 14.33×20.5 inches (364mm x 520.7mm).

A familiar supporting cast

The system’s front-end controller is the familiar Xerox FreeFlow Print Server, which is common to all of Xerox’s leading cut-sheet
presses. And the back-end borrows its finishing connectivity from the proven Xerox Nuvera line.

The press’ base configuration includes the Xerox® Production Stacker, which stacks and produces signature booklets inline. At launch,
the inline CP Bourg BDFNx booklet maker also is available to produce booklets at the press’ rated speed. Additional finishing options
will continue to be rolled out.

Heritage of innovation carries on

Breakthrough advancements often draw comparisons to preceding technologies. Some will undoubtedly refer to Brenva as the “Inkjet
iGen,” much as the first iGen was nicknamed, the “Color DocuTech,” and much as the original DocuTech, introduced more than 25
years ago, was built with the frame and proven paper handling of the then market leading 5090 copier.

Trivor 2400

 Missing jet detection and correction from the CiPress family, to improve image quality.
 Clear pixel technology, from the Rialto, to keep nozzles healthy.
 Inline density optimization to ensure color uniformity across the web, from the IJP 2000.

The press will enable print providers to accelerate growth and drive the production of more high-
value applications in the direct mail, transactional and book markets. Brenva HD is built on Xerox’s
award-winning iGen frame and incorporates many of Xerox’s best-in-breed components including
the reliable paper-path systems of the Xerox iGen family and production stacker of the Xerox Nuvera
family. The Brenva HD offers best-in-class automation and reliability features to keep print
registration and jetting at peak performance.

Additional Brenva HD features include:

 An inline spectrophotometer that establishes ink limits and drop sizes for all paper stocks;
 A cloud-based ink estimation tool that allows customers to preflight files to determine ink
consumption and cost before a job is submitted and printed;
 Object-oriented color management to distinguish text, graphics, and images, and optimizes
the image quality of each accordingly;
 A full-width array scanner that monitors printed sheets to ensure front-to-back registration,
color-to-color registration, and missing jet detection and correction;
 Black-only mode for cost effective monochrome printing–for those looking to migrate from
pre-printed offset shells.

Xerox invented the first production laser printer in 1977, created the print-on-demand market with
the revolutionary Xerox DocuTech (Oct 1990), and launched the world’s first high-speed waterless
inkjet device. The company continues to deliver innovation and is shaping the future of inkjet
printing. (DocuTech: Prior to DocuTech, the world was divided between high-end computer printers
and high-end copier duplicators that were analog, and there was no real machine that manned the
space between them. The DocuTech marked the first time that copier technology and laser printing
technology merged on the high end -- https://www.buyerslab.com/News/Editors-Desk/October-

http://www.printweek.com/print-week/product-news/1156204/xerox-makes-sheetfed-inkjet-move
It is its first product to combine technology from Xerox’s existing toner-based production printers with know-how from its Impika inkjet subsidiary.

We refreshed all of our top-end cut-sheet portfolio in past 18 months and we are still very committed to that market space. Winning in cut-sheet is
very important for us,

The B3-plus format Brenva has a maximum sheet size of 364x520mm and a print speed of 197 A4 images per minute, or half that in duplex
mode. It uses Kyocera printheads.

The throughput in full-size sheets per hour is 3,960sph simplex, or 1,860sph duplex.

Features include an inline spectrophotomer, missing jet correction on-the-fly, front-to-back registration scanning, and vector halftoning. Users can
also set up their own media profiles.

“There’s a lot of functionality in a box that is the size of the iGen that our customers know and love,”

“With the Brenva we are focused on business colour such as transactional print, books and manuals, and direct mail. For high coverage on
coated media, iGen is the best option for the foreseeable future,” he added. “Between 10% and 20% coverage is really the sweet spot for this
technology, where customers will get strong breakthrough economics.”

Xerox has set an aggressive price point of $649,000 (£463,000) for the Brenva with first shipments slated for June.
Existing B2 inkjet presses on the market typically cost in excess of £1m.

There was also a hint that larger-format versions of the Brenva could be in the pipeline. “Some of it’s about time to market, and some about a
solution that fits with customer workflows and finishing solutions. At present the best solution is around B3, it makes it much easier for customers
to fit it into their workflows,” Copley said.

Xerox also announced the Trivor 2400, a 20in (50.8cm) production inkjet web with a small footprint. It runs at 100m/min at 600x600dpi in four-
colour mode, or 200m/min in mono mode. In highest quality colour mode of 1,200x600dpi it will run at between 50-60m/min.

There’s also a new digital frontend inkjet print server for the Trivor 2400 and Impika devices of the same format, powered by EFI’s Fiery
technology.

The unusual naming convention for the new inkjet presses comes from the names of mountains in France and Pakistan.

Further news is expected in the coming weeks regarding cloud versions of Xerox’s workflow and Xmpie multi-channel marketing software.
