3. Entry Qualification : Passed 10th class examination under 10+2

system of Education or its equivalent

4. Duration of Craftsman Training : Six month

5. Duration of Apprenticeship Training : One Year including six month Basic

Training under CTS in the trade of Building
Maintenance

6. Rebate of ITI Passed Trainees : Six month for ITI/ITC passed out trainees
in the trade of Building Maintenance

7. Ratio of Apprentice to Workers : 1:5

 Syllabus for the Trade of “ BUILIDNG MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN”
Under Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS)

Duration of Training : One year

First Six month :- During first six month the apprentices will undergo training as per the
syllabus same as CTS in the trade of Building Maintenance.
Second six month : - The apprentices will undergo training in related
establishment/industry as per the under mentioned syllabus.

CONTENTS OF THE SYLLABUS FOR THE SIX MONTHS APPRENTICESHIP

(BASIC TRAINING WILL BE SAME AS THE CONTENTS OF CTS SYLLABUS. )

PRACTICAL

02. Practice of brick wall 10, 20 & 30 cm. All types of bonds.
03. Practice of stone masonry & ashlars and rubble masonry.
04. To repair and finish cracks in old brick work and stone work.
05. Practice of pointing and plastering.
06. Practice of cement concrete and line concrete work.
07. To make RCC lintel and arch of any span after making arrangement of centering.
08. Construction of floors of different types. Repairing of defective work.
09. Repairing of crack in various types of roofs to stop leakage.
10. Painting of wood/steel work.
11. Whitewashing / distempering and colour washing of building.
12. Construction of false ceiling and wall papering. Mode of measurement.
13. Replacement broken glass of window, ventilator etc.
14. Construction of courses for damp proofing.
15. Practice of varnishing and polishing.
16. Practice of vitrified and glazed tiles work.
17. Pipe cutting & joining & its Plumbing and sanitary work.

05. Application of lime and cement mortar. Plastering, stucco, lath etc. Special types
of finishing. Defects in plaster work & types of pointing.
06. Preparation of surface. Application of whitewash and colour washing. Types of
paints. Process of painting on different surfaces.
07. Carpentry joints. Parts of door and window. It’s location, sizes etc. Fixtures and
fastening used in door, window & ventilator.
08 Dampness in building and damp proof course method of prevention of dampness
in building.
09. RCC materials, form work, bars & constructive materials used.
