GINGER’S DREAM AT GINGER’S CAFE

Help Make Ginger’s Wish for Orphans Come True
GINGER’S DREAM: For everyone to drop one dime in a jar at Ginger’s Café each time you have a meal;
and before you go home, please donate some change including your leftover Funny Money.
All donations go 100% to the Copprome Orphanage.

Ginger Smith, from Wethersfield, CT, has been running the Grey Fox food
concession since 1985. It’s a huge part of her life. Ginger is just as commit-
ted to an orphanage in El Progresso, Honduras that she has supported for
16 years. She sells homemade soup at a local church each winter, and jel-
lies, jams and relishes at a farmer’s market in summer to raise money for
40+ Honduran orphans. She visits the orphanage at least twice a year to
make sure the kids are doing well. All of the money she raises goes directly
to pay for needs of the children. Below is what she accomplished for the
orphans since Grey Fox 2017:

I have been back to Copprome twice. At the end of November I went to see Pepe, a young man who I have
known since he was 6, graduate from High School with honors. It is an amazing achievement as he is only the
second boy to graduate since the orphanage was founded in 1986! While the graduation was great, the fol-
lowing day political uprising started so it was a major challenge getting out of there. On the other hand the
children were great and we had a wonderful time together. I also visited in March for 10 days and things
were much calmer. I took the children to the water park which they love, and cooked American food for them
every day—including cookies and cakes, a pizza party and movie day. All 37 children received new clothes. I
will go back in October. The biggest need right now is healthy food. I so appreciate the donations from the
Grey Fox family as do the children. Any help with buying larger quantities of food are welcomed and many
thanks in advance. Love from Ginger Smith — Ginger's Food Kitchen on the hill.

Designed in collaboration with Ned Steinberger, our new cradle-style capo
automatically centers on the neck of your guitar to provide balanced tension
across the fretboard. Add to that an adjustable micrometer which allows you
to dial in on the perfect pressure. Made from stainless steel and aluminum,
the Cradle Capo is both durable and lightweight, so you can transition quickly
between songs. And with its ability to elegantly marry to the neck of your guitar,
it's there when you need it and out of the way when you don't.

kids had the chance to have musical instru-

THE STEEP CANYON RANGERS (Sat)

The Steep Canyon Rangers’ performances
always serve the music first. Their instru-
mental execution is melodic, conversational
and precise; their original songs are emo-
tionally resonant; and their heartfelt vocal
harmonies are exquisitely crafted. The
Steeps toured the world with Steve Martin
and won the 2011 IBMA Entertainer of the
Year award. They’ve recorded with Edie
Brickell, Paul McCartney and the Dixie
Chicks. Having won the 2006 IBMA Emerg-
ing Artist of the Year award, they also
earned a 2012 Grammy for Best Bluegrass
The Wood Brothers Album. No Depression says of their 12th re-
lease, “Out in the Open”, “The spare instru-
mentation, the poignant honesty of the
lyrics and the palpable images of life on the
road create an enduring and affecting
beauty.” The Steeps are: Michael Ashworth
(vocals, percussion, guitar & mandolin);
Michael Guggino (vocals, mandolin & man-
dola); Woody Platt; (vocals & guitar); Nicky
Sanders (fiddle, piano & vocals); Graham
Sharp (vocals, banjo, guitar & harmonica);
and Barrett Smith (upright bass).

THE WOOD BROTHERS (Fri)

Songs From The Road Band The Wood Brothers released “Ways Not To
Lose”, on the legendary Blue Note label in
2006 after celebrated careers performing
separately in national acts. Bassist Chris
Wood already had legions of devoted fans
as one-third of Medeski Martin & Wood,
while his brother, Oliver, played guitar with
Tinsley Ellis and toured with King Johnson.
With percussionist Jano Rix added as a 3rd
member, they rose to headliner status. The
brothers have refined a soulful blend of
murder ballads, heartsick blues, and back-
porch folk-funk. Oliver’s earthy vocals and
sturdy compositions helped the band gain a
substantial fan base. Chris Wood developed
his extraordinary bass chops studying with
bassist Dave Holland. Of their new release,
“One Drop of Truth”, Rolling Stone says;
“The trio drifts effortlessly between styles as
diverse as plaintive country folk and electri-
fied blues funk, toying with unrelated ideas
as never before.” www.thewoodbros.com u
