GETTING PREPARED
ARRIVAL:
Please note if your flight lands at 0700 hrs then you will be able to take the
Morning ferry at 0815 hrs. (Makruzz/ Private ferry operates only from Oct – May).
Please note your flight should land latest by 1200 hrs to take the Government
Ferry at 1400 hrs (last ferry to Havelock)/ or Afternoon Private ferry which
operates Oct to Apr at 1330hrs.
In case you land after 1200 hrs then you will have to stay at Port Blair that night.
All OCI / PIO / foreign nationals are required to register themselves at the
immigration counter at the airport before exiting.
ARRIVING:
Indian nationals should carry a valid ID proofs (Either Passport, Drivers License,
Voter‟s ID)
While boarding the ferry / private boat it is mandatory to show the ID proof to the
security personnel before entering the Jetty.
All foreign nationals are required to obtain the RAP number from the RAP counter at
the airport, there are 02 counters. RAP is granted within 15-20 mins upon arrival
at the airport itself. A valid Indian tourist visa (or e-visa) is sufficient to be
granted an RAP upon arrival
As soon as you collect your luggage please proceed to the ARRIVALS gate of the
airport where our Barefoot representative would be waiting with a BAREFOOT
signage with your name on it. (applicable only if guest have pre booked
transfer service)
You will be taken to the Port Blair Jetty for departure to Havelock or a hotel in Port
Blair based on your arrival timing and itinerary. In case you are landing in the
morning we will take you to a location where you can keep your luggage and wait for further
transfer for the ferry.
Incase you are staying at Port Blair kindly note that our transfer service only
provides a drop if the hotel is within 5 kms of the jetty/ airport. We do not do drop
to Rose Valley/ Army Mess Brichgunj/ Sea Princess etc ubless you have
mentioned at the time of booking and paid supplement charges. Please check
with reservations team for supplement cost for drop to the mentioned places.
Once you are dropped at the Port Blair Jetty, the ferry tickets will be handed over to
you by our personnel.
Please note there is a small walk involved from the jetty entrance to the ferry, in
case you are carrying heavy luggage you can directly avail porter services at the
jetty. Do not pay more than Rs 50 per bag.
CLOTHING:
Casual clothing is recommended in Andaman. We recommend you carry
lightweight cotton and linen clothes.
Clothing for women can be sundresses, kaftans, light shirts, sarongs, shirts &
skirts.
Clothing for men can be light cotton shirts, shorts, pants, board shorts and some
light and comfortable smart casual for evening wear.
Whilst at Andaman, most guests wear comfortable clothes throughout the day and
night. Board shorts and bikinis are more than acceptable on the beach.
Most of our guests wear slides or slippers which are more than acceptable at any
time of the day. High heels are not required. Do note that all guest need to remove
their footwear before entering our lounge bar and restaurant, hence open
footwear is recommended.
WEATHER:
Andaman being surrounded by seas is generally warm and humid.
June and July is monsoon, and there can be daily patchy light showers to good
thunderstorms. The water temperature ranges from 24/30° Celsius. August –
December also one could expect rain due to the retreating monsoons.
Andaman is a tropical Island and weather is quite unpredictable, hence rain can be
expected throughout the year.
BEST TIME:
The best time to visit Andaman is between October – May, however guests also visit
during August and September.
Most establishments accept credit cards (Visa / Master only) but do not accept
AMEX & Debit cards.
Guest can also pay via our payment gateway link provided once rooms are
blocked and confirmed.
For payments at Havelock by credit cards, guests will have to fill a form authorizing
the vendor to charge their card, post which they will proceed to do a offline sale at
their Port Blair office (owing to lack of data connectivity at Havelock).
There are only 02 ATMs at Havelock, hence it is advised to carry sufficient cash.
Foreign currency has limited acceptance on the island and it is advisable to change
currency in Mainland India before arriving at Port Blair
DEPARTURE:
Please note on departure if your flight is after 1400 hrs from Port Blair then you
can take the Government Ferry at 0900 hrs (first ferry out of Havelock) and reach
Port Blair at 1130 hrs (or the Privately operated ferries which ply between
October & April). This allows to you stay all nights at Havelock (do also note the
liability clause).
DIETARY REQUIRMENTS:
Please note Havelock is a very small Island with limited infrastructure and
availability of raw materials, hence if you have any specific diet requirement,
request you to liaise with us at the booking stage and we shall check with your
chosen resort and inform you about the availability of the same.
We provide packed breakfast at 0630 hrs (on request) to guests who go for diving/
excursions in the morning.
Only Indian Made Foreign Liquor as supplied by the Govt Wine Shop available at
our Bar. There are no single malts/ Imported Wines available. Alcohol brought
from outside is not allowed at our bar.
At Havelock, only Barefoot at Havelock and Symphony Palms resort have bar
licenses. Alcohol (2 bottles each) may be purchased at Port Blair and transported
on the ferry to Havelock for in-room consumption at any other resort

ELECTRICITY
HEALTH CARE
There is only one Primary Health Center in Havelock located in Village No 3 located
8 kms from the resort.
Normally mosquitoes can be spotted only in the evening time around 5 PM to 6PM
(sunset) so if you keep the doors closed then there won‟t be a problem however
you can consult your dermatologist before arriving to Andaman and bring some
mosquito repellent cream with you if required.
The local pharmacy located in the market (08 kilometers away) stocks only basic
medications. Request you to kindly carry specific medicines if required.
Nearly all beach in Andamans Island have sand flies. Guest may bring a strong
repellent along. No proper sand fly repellent is available on the island and only
mosquito repellent is available.
India is in general on the malarial risk. So, many tourists coming to India do take
malarial preventive medication and in the Andamans Island also malaria does
exist however no cases of Malaria have been reported from Havelock at all. Please
note we would advise you to be cautious and check with your doctor prior to arrival
and do what they recommend
LANGUAGE
Andaman has settlers from all over India, hence most of them speak Hindi, and
the other languages spoken are English, Tamil & Bengali.
LAUNDRY
Laundry can be done at the resort by wash and iron with a turnaround time of 36 –
48 hrs, subject to weather conditions.
Incase your Visa has been received kindly do check and ensure that there is NO
SEPARATE STAMP stating „Entry to Restricted Areas Not Permitted‟. If this exists,
do contact the Indian mission to amend the same.
Please also note that there is a pre-printed separate line in the Visa which would
state: „Not valid for prohibited, restricted and cantonment areas‟ and this line can
be ignored.
Kindly note the RAP is a Government requirement and we will not take any
liability in case of a guest having to return back from airport due to non compliance
of the government rules and regulations. Our normal cancellation policy will apply.

kindly keep the bills for the same as there will be screening at the airport.
LOCAL TIME
Andaman is 10 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 12.5 hours ahead of
Pacific Standard.

RELIGION:
Andaman Islands are considered mini India, people from all religions live here in
peace and harmony.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
The reality is that with any holiday, we should all consider travel insurance.
Andaman being tropical island weather is quite unpredictable; hence it is probably
a good idea to think about holiday insurance for your Andaman trip incase of ferry/
flight cancellations.
MOBILE NETWORK:
Havelock is a remote destination, phone connectivity (fixed line / mobile) might
drop anytime.
One can communicate though mobile phones at Port Blair, subject to network
conditions.
At Havelock there is no connectivity at the resort; one has to walk towards the
beach for mobile reception.
Please note at times BSNL network is available at the resort.
We do not have any inter com facility at the resort.
INTERNET:
Internet is not easily available and data connectivity is poort. We do not have internet
connection at the resort and there is an internet center at the market (8
kilometers) with slow speeds.
