Teaching approach: the lesson is based on the Total Physical Response approach
and organized through the PPP procedure
Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: during the lesson, students will
watch a video on the computer.
ROUTINE: (3 minutes)
Purpose: to start the lesson and establish rapport. I will greet them and ask: “hello! How are
you?”. We will sing the hello song together in a circle.

I will bring to the class a kind of clock with the weather. I will move the hand of the clock in order to
show them the weather. The picture will be something like the following picture, with colour of
course and with no words: I will move the hand and will say for example: ‘sunny, it’s sunny’ I will
expect students repeat after me. I will choose some volunteers to move the hand, the rest of the
class will say the word pointed. After repeating the weather many times, I will ask students: ‘how is
the weather like today’ (miming outside)
Transition: very good!! Now, let’s watch a video and dance! Commented [A1]: While they are watching?
I would say you should first encourage them to join in, to name the
weather conditions. Of course, they can move and have fun in their

DEVELOPMENT: (7 minutes)
I will give students some worksheet for them to match. I will say: ‘you have to match the weather
with the feelings’, ‘the sun is happy, match the sun with the happy face’, ‘the cloud is sad, match the Commented [A2]: Which skill does this activity develop?
Make sure you exploit it to the full, so that students actually use
cloud with the sad face’. I will use the feelings flashcards I have used previously in order to help and produce the target language.

Purpose: to round up the topic by realizing which objects correpond to the weather presented.
In groups: I will provide students with some pictures about the weather, and some other pictures
that are pictures related to weather. They have to put the pictures next to the weather. Commented [A3]: Elicit the target vocabulary. Prompt their
answers if necessary.

I will greet my students and I’m going to tell them that this is my last class. Together we sing the
goodbye song we have learnt during this period.
